Paper Airplane Launch

We had a good night on the track, watching some Americans fly on the Parisian track.  It's been a good Olympics, and of course we're super cheering to see the U.S. on top of the gold medal count.  Still, it's pretty close.  We'll see as the week ends, but this year we've been watching pretty much every type of game there is, although we still have handball and a few other random sports to get a glimpse of before we end the weekend.  We'll watch some of those too.

Speaking of big games, today was a paper airplane contest that we filmed for KPTV, one that featured two novices (Josh and Camille) building paper airplanes at the last minute and then launching them all off the top of the third floor walkway, watching them glide across the second floor area.  It was a good bit of fun, something we love about our KPTV videos.

Check out the set - it's coming along!  We're were working on our Toy Box series today, getting the skit finalized, and of course there are costuming things to do, which we're working on as well.  Things are lining up rather well, so that's good for the future - we're hoping to do a LEGO series again after this, and then after that... hopefully a return to an ancient series we called "Hot Wheels" that actually predates Maddie entirely.  We'll probably call it something else, but it might have us all going to the racetrack again, which might be fun!

But the other plans for the future were reserved today, as Mom got us reserved to celebrate Maddie's graduation with a trip to Eleuthera, which isn't exactly an exciting word unless you mention it is in the Bahamas.  Yes, we're doing a Disney Cruise again.  It's on the Magic, a ship we've never been on before.  It's the first cruise ship they had, about twenty-five years old by now.  We were on the Wonder, the Dream, and then the Wish.  This one is the smallest, being that it is the first, but that actually plays in our favor for a couple reasons.  But the other great thing are the different shows and restaurants onboard, and then of course the visit to a new destination on the island of Eleuthera.  I remember in the "Pirates!" game how I could easily capture Eleuthera, and it almost wasn't worth it.  But now it's a prize destination for the future, one featuring beautiful beaches and Junkanoo, which we don't know much about at the present, but look forward to learning about, and seeing.  I might even get Mom a Junkanoo costume!

Anyway, that's a while from now.  So let's focus on the evening and the rest of the day.  Maddie had a good day at school, or at least that's what she said!  We didn't do much tonight - no FCY or taekwondo - so it was all Olympics coverage.  We've even put video games on hold for a bit.  Just one more week of the Olympic addiction.  Then it's on to the Paralympics!

We read tonight, and these later "Return of the Jedi" short stories aren't as exciting.  But we're slogging through some of them to the end, and then a viewing of the movie follows.  There have been a few good stories in there, but sometimes you hit a few slow ones and you sort of want to skip to the end.... speaking of which, let's skip to the end of this blog:  we closed out the day with prayers, tucking in the Plush Entourage, and a good night's rest.
