School was good today with Maddie back at Chestatee, then returning to the high school to study "ceramics and dead bodies." That would be her forensics class, by the way. She's enjoying her time at Chestatee, but doesn't talk too much about high school classes. Her ceramics project is turning out really well lately, the one using perspective.
The other funny thing is her forensics class, where the teacher keeps setting up a dummy in various places, the sole purpose of which is to startle students as they enter the room. It's been pretty fun!
One thing she is excited about at high school is the prom. She's been looking up dresses online and making plans to go in April, including what friends to go with and possibly a destination beforehand. As the event is down towards Cumming, it may be that she'll drop by Vampire Penguin again for some ice cream and fun. We'll see!
Mom and I were at the bank again, and this time the hold-up is with the IRS, but what else is new? IRS actually stands for Interminable Redundant Suffering, or something like that. The good news is that apparently we have been doing things correctly all along with their online form - we're not crazy. It's been giving us a random error code which according to their own employees is so generic that it is not in fact helpful. Which pretty much sums up the entire agency, of course. But the end result of all this, which we only arrived at this morning after a bank visit with someone more familiar with all this, is this: we need to fax a form to them. Yes, you read that right. We need to send a fax. Like, use a fax machine? I didn't realize they make fax machines, actually. I'm kind of excited about that, come to think of it. I'm a huge fan of using ancient technology! Like using a Commodore 64, taking film to a developer, or putting on a phonograph record. Anyway, yeah, we'll be sending a fax.
After our largely unproductive time at the bank, Mom and I did a Valentine's Day lunch early, going to Outback for a really good meal together, complete with that fantastic desert. We always have a good time there. It was delicious, and just a nice relaxing time together.
Mom and I enjoyed the rest of the day getting a few things done here or there. I got Maddie to taekwondo where Maddie was enjoying some sparring, hilariously getting her foot tangled in a simultaneous kick with her sparring partner. The two of them fell, and laughed at the whole experience. I was out getting groceries and catching up there. We got home and finished up with "The Chosen," season three, ready for the movies tomorrow where we'll catch season four's start.
Tonight we read from our book, moving along there. The Plush Entourage listened along as we heard about Tiffany's mercy for the Queen of the Elves. We'll see how that works out, but there's still trouble looming. Soon enough, those evil elves will be arriving and they'll have to be dealt with. The good news is that the Nac Mac Feegle are itching for a fight!
We said our prayers tonight, and that was it for a fairly routine day. It was a good one though!
