Cheese and Onions

Maddie went with FCY and some friends today to see "Wakanda Forever," the latest MCU movie, which she enjoyed quite a bit.  It was good, and she had a great time hanging out.  Long movie though - and it was down at the Mall of Georgia, which meant a little bit of a drive down there.  While Maddie was watching the movie, we were down at the Taste of Britain, which happened to be having a "open house" day, which basically meant all their stuff was ready for the holidays, plus someone serving for free some award-winning turkey cranberry and stuffing pie made by the Pie Society.  Firstly, it was delicious.  Secondly, free.  We all had a nice meal this afternoon before going in to shop.  Thirdly, did you know there's a Pie Society?  Count me in on that!  Anyway, we picked up a lot of goodies there, lots of stuff from "Across the Pond."  Of course there were Crunchie bars, but also Quality street chocolates, pudding, sodas, candies, and Cheese and Onions.  I capitalize that because for some reason, everyone there in that store was grabbing a big box of Cheese and Onions.

The box was so festive, so yeah, I got some.  Look at that happy yellow potato thing on the cover!  Talk about peer pressure!  We had some as soon as we got to the car, and they weren't bad at all.  I'm not sure how long these will last when we get home.

We also stopped and did some other Christmas shopping, and of course.  Actually, we got a lot done while Maddie was there.  We stopped back by the Mall of Georgia to pick her up, and that place was slammed.  I mean, there were so many people there already, so many Christmas shoppers and so many parking spots full.  We don't like shopping when it is that full, actually.  We passed by Santa - they've moved him to another spot within the mall.  This is the first Santa location that Maddie posed for a picture with.  Back in the day, there was a different Santa - Maddie ran right up to him for his picture.  This Santa, however, was this thin guy.  Sure he had the beard, the red and white costume and the jolly demeanor.  But Santa here is too thin!

Anyway, we went home afterwards, and it was a long afternoon so we were ready to be home and get settled down.  Mom made us some delicious soup, and we popped in "Miracle on 34th Street," and then an episode of "Hawkeye," which we love.  The third episode is so much fun, and of course it has that holiday theme to it.  We did our reading tonight, and we said our prayers afterwards.  But it was late, and time for bed - we've got another full morning tomorrow.
