It's Giving...

We went grocery shopping tonight while Maddie was off to FCY.  Their new theme this month is a Thanksgiving sort of series, one that looks like this:

Pastor Jacob was speaking tonight, and it was certain an in-season word for many, including Camille, who's been having a rough time lately with some things that were out of her control.  Maddie and the small group have been supportive though, and it's neat to have a circle of friends as that, ones that just get together and talk.

It's November, and how great that some of our holiday themed foods are out already at the grocery stores.  At least there's no supply-chain issues with certain things.  Or perhaps not yet - that's one reason why I went ahead and got the egg nog ice cream and the peppermint candy cane ice cream, some of the family favorites.  And yes, I picked up the lactose free egg nog, as well as some other cookies and chocolates for the season.  We pick up the usual grocery list too, including Lipton green ice tea.  A moment of reflection about Lipton green ice tea here:  I don't drink it.  Neither does Maddie - she inhales it.  This is not an exaggeration:  we purchase twenty-four of those Lipton green ice teas each time we go to the grocery store.  That's how much she drinks it.  Nana drinks it too, perhaps the only thing these two have in common.  Our refrigerator in the garage is lined with Lipton green ice tea.  Sometimes we find these empty bottles in Maddie's bedroom or on the couch... it's pretty much her go-to drink the last year or so.

Anyway, I picked up Maddie from FCY tonight, and it was a good time.  I always wander in there to the post-service hangout, where students are playing games, sitting and talking, and eating pizza of course.  In a couple weeks there's a "Friendsgiving" night again with turkey and all the fixings, and that should be nice.  I'll bring my new camera for that night.

We got home and it was too late to watch anything much, but Mom and I are already watching Christmas things with Nana.  We have to watch something with Nana all the time, otherwise she starts getting antsy.  But Christmas movies are something we can all agree on, and we've got a lot of new stuff to check out this year, so that should be fun.

We read, and we said our prayers tonight, and soon enough, we fell asleep.  It was a good day.

Maddie's pov:

There was fcy tonight :)))). I was hanging out with my friends, Lauren and Nevaeh, the whole time. We were joking around a lot before and after service, and during service, the game was people eating pie without their hands and they were also blindfolded.
