The Twelfth Annual KidPak Office Thanksgiving

It was a long day - we had a good one with five big things that happened.  The one that happened tonight was our Twelfth Annual KidPak Office Thanksgiving, which we had at night this year because of all the other scheduling complications of the week.  Still, just the right amount of people came with just the right amount of food, and it was all very delicious.  More important, everyone had a great time just hanging out together, talking and catching up.  Maddie got to attend, as it was night time, and so did a few of our other volunteers, which was great.  Nana was there suddenly perked up and enjoying life, despite the fact that she had been miserable and sick earlier on - she was even playing ping pong.  Everyone had a nice time tonight, and although we'll probably do it around lunch time next year, it was still fun to get together.

Another big thing that happened was that a Wise Man is unable to return as king this year.  He was the shorter one, and it just so happens that his outfit should fit mine.  I was quietly praying to be a Wise Man this year, even though I knew the part was taken from last year, and look what happened.  I'm getting to be a Wise Man!

The third and fourth things were political ones - the House of Representatives is now controlled by Republicans again, so there's that.  And the other news is that former President Trump has announced his intention to run again.

The fifth thing I can't talk about right now, but no doubt you'll be hearing about it soon.  It was a long day today, and it was a good one.  Maddie had a good day at school, and we all had a great night going back to KidPak.

Tonight we read from "The Light Fantastic," one particular section that features the Luggage, which is Maddie's favorite character right now.  I don't blame her.  There are so many great characters in Discworld, and the Luggage is one of them for sure.

We said our prayers afterwards, and then it was time to get some sleep.  I've got a lot of catching up to do tomorrow, and it's going to be a big work day!  G'night!
