Ginger House Building Party

We had another night off, so why not build a gingerbread house?

Maddie spontaneously invited a friend over for a night of gingerbread creation, and this of course is something she has many years of experience doing!  She and Ginger made some gingerbread houses, decorating them and this time using actual sugar to hold the seams and edges together, which was slightly challenging.

They did a great job though, and they even created two other mini-gingerbread houses too, slathering on the sweets and sugar, and of course sampling a bit of everything they could along the way!

It was a fun time!  There was Christmas music playing and the trees were all decorated and lit up for a nice little festive evening together.

This probably won't be the last time she makes a gingerbread house, but this was a whole lot of fun!

We had a decent day today.  It was Black Friday, so we were determined to stay away from the shoppers rushing home with their treasures.  But later on, Nana was in such a state that I took her out to do some grocery shopping, inventing reasons to go out and things to do.  While we were away, Maddie was able to have a great time, of course.

We got the Christmas wreaths up on the outside of the house, one of those processes that is completely unenjoyable in every way - except the finished product.  The windows we have are just not that great at opening or shutting.  Anyway, the end product looks great.  We even put the small trees in the front, and with the piano tree and the Star Wars tree all lit up and visible from the front, the house is looking pretty good so far!

While at the grocery store, we even got some more of those little pine-scented sticks that are designed to hang from a bough inside the artificial tree to give it a pine smell.  We've got just a hint of pine in the rooms, especially with Mom's scented Christmas soap.

We did watch a few movies tonight, Christmas ones of course.  But we're not out and about so much today.  No Thanksgiving weekend movies this year, as there really isn't much out there to see.

At the end of it all, we read from our book, and we said our prayers too.  It was a good day today.

Maddie's pov:

So basically, I did nothing for most of the day. For like 3 hours, I played "A World of Keflings", which is a game that I used to play a lot.

Around 7 pm, my friend Ginger came to my house so we could make a gingerbread house together. We both made one small one ourselves before we decorated the big main one. I decorated one half of the house and Ginger did the other half. We were talking and all. It was really chill.
