Friendsgiving 2022

Tonight Maddie was at FCY again, and as you can see above, it was "Friendsgiving," a night where there was the usual service and games, but this time a big Thanksgiving meal afterwards.

All the students lined up where there was a buffet table set up with all kinds of food, and just like last night, there was yet another Thanksgiving-style feat for Maddie.  The funny thing is that I have one of these tomorrow with the pre-school, and the Wisdom Club has a Thanksgiving-style meal for the seniors on Friday.  So we'll have had plenty of turkey before Thanksgiving week even starts!

As for tonight though, Maddie had a good time, as did her friends and everyone else there.  It was nice last year, a pleasant meal to go with the holidays where everyone just takes a break.

It was a pretty frantic day with writing, getting the new Narnia sermon booklet all wrapped up, or at least mostly so.  We have seven messages, one for each book, and those look pretty solid.  Who would have ever thought we'd get to do this series here?  I think it's possible because everyone is so busy around Christmas time.  And come to think of it, we're pretty slammed and stressed trying to get this done in time.  But it will be worth it.  We'll have to get these costumes in a hurry, but soon enough we'll be in Narnia for the first time at KidPak!

We saw the first episode of "The Santa Clauses" tonight, and it looks like this will be a fun Christmas series to watch - it's great to see Scott Calvin and many others back again.  It was a short episode, but it was just full of Christmas cheer.  We loved it.

We read tonight, and then it was time for prayers... and sleep!

Maddie's Pov:
During lunch, I was talking to my friends Libby and Julianna. They both had sugar cookies from the band room. While I was talking to Libby, Julianna puts the sugar cookie powder onto my black hoodie and I looked so disappointed (jokingly disappointed) and Libby, Julianna, Kathryn, and I started laughing. It was funny.

Later, there was FCY. It was a Friendsgiving tonight, which was fun. I was hanging out with Nevaeh and Lauren the whole time. We had to go sit on the steps part of the auditorium. Pastor Jacob's message was good and at the same time also funny. After the service, Lauren had to leave right away, but Nevaeh was still there. I saw Jeremiah there.
