Pilgrims and Indians... and a Turkey Too!

This has been such a wonderful series, one I'm supremely thankful for.  Look at this cast and crew up here, and all those amazing costumes Mom put together for us.  Maddie looks fantastic as a Pilgrim, and Camille is having a blast as the turkey.  It's been about twelve years since we've done this series, and I really wanted to revisit it so much, so I'm pretty happy to see all this on stage again.

The messages are largely the same, with some adjustments, and it's all really solid stuff.  Josh created these animated segments that tell the true story of the first Thanksgiving, something that isn't really taught any more, and something we were excited to tell to this audience.  Between that and the skits on stage, plus the other games and activities too - and the messages... this is a really nice series.

I just had to get everyone together for the group shot above, something we can all send out closer to Thanksgiving with a little note that says "Happy Thanksgiving" or something like that.  It's been a while since we've done this sort of group shot, but this one is fantastic.

And this one?  Well, maybe not as much.  It's just us being goofy.  But it was fun.  We were out in the lobby afterwards posing for pictures with kids and even Officer Monica out there too.  The service itself was so good, and I already know that next week's service is going to be splendid.  Here we are, creeping up on Thanksgiving already!

Ah, the teepee.  Jeremiah takes a little snooze inside on stage.  Of course, he's just posing, as the band practices a bit in the background.  What a day - so much going on.

Anyway, we had a great time there, and after that we had to go over to the cell phone place for a bit, and then finally home.  Mom was SUPER busy tonight, and very productive working towards the Christmas production seeing how these dancer costumes will fit, and there were even a few rehearsals with the costumes actually on, although obviously they'll need some alterations.  She was there for quite some time, so we babysat here for her.  Nana waved goodbye, and then ten minutes later was asking if Mom was upstairs getting a bath.  We wound up having a Hallmark Christmas movie marathon to keep her mind on something else though, and that seemed to work.  I had to be there for that too, otherwise she'd wander off.  Maddie was working on her homework, including a bit of a World History/Art project that you'll be seeing here soon enough.

We watched "Gremlins" later on tonight, and I was itching to see that one again after so long.  It might be considered a Christmas movie, I think, so that was my excuse.  It's not one you want to see every year.  I just was feeling a bit retro, given that I'd seen an advent calendar for sale recently with Gremlins in it.  We might just see part two after Christmas to go along with a new category of possible "New Year's Eve" movies.  There really aren't many out there, anyway.

Moving on!  Mom came home tonight and we got ready for bed.  We read, and said our prayers, and just like that, we were all out like a light - the wind is cold tonight, and winter is letting us know it's on the way.
