Broncos Winning Season

Tonight was the last football game of the season for the East Forsyth Broncos, and it was a great one to end the season on.  This year, they had a winning record, and it's only their second season in existence.  The team was facing off against the North Hall Trojans, and it was a game that was fairly close.  Although East Forsyth pulled ahead 14-0 early on, the Trojans caught up and tied it.  And after the Broncos pulled ahead once more, yet again the Trojans caught up to make it 21-21.  Late in the game, finally the Broncos charged into the end zone one final time for the season, winning the game and securing a winning season.  They may not have gotten into the playoffs this year, but the team already has a winning record, and that's exciting for them.

Also exciting was that it was Senior night.  One of Maddie's friends (Sarah Jordan) is a senior in the band, so Maddie really wanted to go tonight to honor her, and the others that she knew too.  The weather was perfect for a football game, so she and a friend went together to catch the football action, and of course catch up with one another while honoring their friends in school.  It was a nice night!

It was a good day, although a long one.  It's been a tiny bit stressful as there is so much writing to be done for the upcoming Narnia series.  We're still making plans for this weekend, and then there are other upcoming events, such as a night we're calling "Game On," for the kids that is coming next Friday, and of course the Christmas production that is snowballing into this massive event that will crash down upon all of us deep in December.  It's going to be a pretty crazy week.  The calendar is filling up quickly though, and we have to make sure we schedule everything out to make sure we get in all the fun of Christmas season.

While Maddie was at the football game, we continued our Hallmark Christmas movie trend with "The Christmas Club," another one of those holiday movies that seem super popular this time of year with a large part of the population.  This has been going on for years, so there are literally hundreds of these holiday-themed romances to watch.  A few years ago, I got a few for Mom for Christmas so that we could watch them some time.  And they aren't bad.  This one tonight was actually pretty good.  Like with anything there are good ones and bad ones, so you sort of have to do your research with the older ones.  Anyway, I thought this one was actually written rather well.  Mom and Nana enjoyed it of course, so yes, we'll give this one a "thumbs up."  They've added more of these types of movies to one of our streaming services, so no doubt we'll be visiting more of them in the coming weeks.  They're harmless, a little different, and not too bad!

Anyway, it was a good day today.  Busy, but ended a nice note together.  We read from "The Color of Magic," and we said our prayers.  We've got a few things for tomorrow, and it should be a nice day.

Maddie's pov:

Okay, first off, I'm starting with my art class for right now. I got Leonardo Da Vinci as my artist and my friend Julianna got Picasso I think. Here's the convo we had:

Me: oh I got the dude who did Mona Lisa

Julianna: That's cool, I got the dude who was a suspect for stealing the Mona Lisa

Me: *casually stares at her with a slight glare and about to laugh*

Anyway, nothing else interesting happened at school. I had invited my friend Maddie G to the last football game tonight. It was gold out and I didn't really have anything for it but whatever. The same thing happened to Maddie G. The seniors got shouted out around 6:45 and I cheered for Sarah when she was shouted out. The game started soon after. It was a lot of back and forth. We got two touchdowns and field goals then the other time (the trojans) did, then we would get a touch down and a field goal, then we got the last one, so the score was 28-21 at the end. During the third quarter, Maddie and I went to the other side to hangout with the band people. Then we went back to the bleachers with them and kinda watched the rest of the game. It was a fun night honestly.

Maddie and me like 30 minutes before the senior shout outs lol
