If I could go to any fake college, it would either be Monsters University, or Medfield College. Today after church, we revisited Medfield College, really just the first of quite a few more visits upcoming. With the "Weird Science" theme coming up for KidPak, Daddy is watching these sorts of movies as research. But Madison is along for the ride - today she saw "The Absent-Minded Professor," and in the upcoming days we'll see "Son of Flubber," "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes," "Now You See Me, Now You Don't," "The Strongest Man in the World," and lastly, "Flubber."
Hopefully Madison will be able to get to Medfield College some day. For one, it seems like a pretty clean-cut sort of place. Sure, they frequently have money problems. But they have a great science department, apparently. Seriously look at all they've accomplished: invisible people, super strength, amazing intelligence enhancement, and a mysterious gooey substance that multiplies energy. Berkeley hasn't figured out how do any of that. They just discovered a couple elements on the periodic chart.
Oh - speaking of which, here's today's entry:

“You are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14 NIrV
NEON
Ne 10
Neon is a gas you’ve probably seen before. You may have seen glowing letter signs in your favorite pizza place, or maybe a neon sign at a gas station or grocery store that reads “OPEN.”
These signs glow red because of the neon inside them. The letters are made of glass tubes that have the neon gas inside them. Add a little spark of electricity to neon, and it starts to glow – and point the way!
As Christians, we’re supposed to be like neon too. We’re supposed to shine, and show the way. Jesus told us that we were the light of the world, but our jobs are not just to sit there and shine. He wants us to tell the world about Him. Like neon, we should shine bright, and point everyone in the direction of Jesus. His arms are wide “OPEN.”
Your lab assignment is easy today: is there anyone you can point the way to? It can be a dark world out there, and as a Christian, you can shine – and show the way. Show the world the gospel, and stand out like a neon sign!

This morning's service went well, a message about compassion. Madison got to see it twice, as always. She laughs at the skits, along with the other kids - we're about to wrap up this story line though, believe it or not. Time really flies. It seems like not long ago we were at "Under the Sea," or even "Northern Lights." Now Daddy is watching old science movies to get ideas for a new story in May. Stay tuned for that one... in fact, it's time to go pop in some other television shows. Looking for just the right idea. Maybe on stage, we revisit Medfield College?
