Wow. Seriously, we didn't even step out of the house ONCE yesterday. Not even to get the mail! It was a chilly day anyway, so much so that early on we had a fire in the fireplace.
But today is lovely. This is great, because Nana and Ba-Ba arrived tonight, apparently bringing with them the warmer weather. We're delighted to see them - the last time we saw them was back in November. Their new dog Shadow came along, and he got along splendidly with each of us. It is bittersweet not to see Velcro anymore, but Shadow is a very nice dog, and a good addition to the family.
We did step out of the house this afternoon, but not just to get the mail. We took Madison to see the movie "Home" which came out a week ago or so. It was actually a better movie than I thought it would be, although my expectations were pretty low. The theater was packed - lots of people there today! We got our bucket of popcorn, and smuggled a lot of Easter candy in as well - and also a happy meal toy Madison got a week or so ago: a small version of Oh, the lead character in the movie.
Obviously with the grandparents coming, we did some cleaning up today. The two front rooms look like war rooms. So much fabric all over the place, the evidence of a battle with a sewing machine and endless skirmishes with various Bible costumes. It'll take a while to really clean things up, but we're getting started pretty well today, starting also with the Easter decorations, which are now downstairs already.
It was a nice day. We read some more of the chapter book, and reserved four more books for Madison at the local library: she's finished her 'Weird School' books and is ready for four more! She's quite proud to be able to finish a book in one day.
So tonight there was a tremendous amount of catching up to do, and card games too. Madison had the cards ready for the grandparents. There was also an Easter basket for them, and Christmas presents too. We popped in some Christmas music, and watched as they opened their Christmas presents, the ones we left in their room. We talked for a while, but as you can imagine, they were tired from the long trip here. So it was off to bed tonight, and for Madison too. For Mommy and Daddy though: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
