Happiness Eggs

Another busy day!  Of course, it's been one that Madison has been looking forward to:  April Fool's Day.  First thing this morning, she cleared her throat and said, "Daddy, your shoe is untied."  Of course, I looked.  And of course, it wasn't untied.  "April Fool's!" she shouted out.  And this was just the opening salvo of an entire day of pranks and assaults - although we got her pretty good after school.

That's when Lance came over - he was decorating eggs with us.  He told Madison that he was moving to Hawaii, and this was pretty much the last time he would see her.  Madison was looking very tearful at this point, so Lance had to break:  "April Fool's!"

Madison looked around and screamed out, "Dang!"

It was hilarious.  As mentioned earlier, we did do our eggs today.  We squeezed this in basically the only real estate on the calendar that we could!  Mommy had things set up so that Daddy and Lance walked in to the house and got the dyes ready, and he, Daddy and Madison all sat there decorating our eggs.  Daddy's favorite is the simplicity of the Baymax egg, for your healthcare needs.

We did about a dozen eggs, trying out different patterns and colors, but it was more about taking a time-out from the busy schedule.  We've been go, go, go lately.  This was a welcome break.  The weather outside is gorgeous, and we had some coupons for free lunches at the gas station across the street.  Why not take a quick break to color eggs?

Madison loved the company, and enjoyed coloring her eggs.  She marked on some, and dyed others.  She made an X-Men egg, and another egg that says, "Hey dude!"  But the others are largely colorful creations.

Afterwards, we had to go back to work again.  Tonight's service had the theme to it: "Don't get fooled!"  We pulled a prank on all the kids out there, again letting them know that Pastor Lance was moving to Hawaii.  And that we were changing the name of the ministry.  And that our new mascot was Sparklz the Clown.

Oh, and that this ministry was for K-2, and 4-6 graders.  Third graders would have to go back upstairs, please!

It was a pretty fun prank, one that had everyone laughing in the end.  And it went really well with our bottom line about "not getting fooled."  Remember, Eve was fooled.  So was Judas - but in the end, the enemy was fooled when he thought Jesus was defeated on the cross.  It was a fun theme, and a fun night!
