Easter Sunday

So here we are on Easter Sunday once more.  As you can see here, we did have time for our annual egg hunt this afternoon.  As is our custom, we went to Nana and Ye-Ye's house to eat and search for eggs, and just basically collapse.

This morning was huge, of course.  We closed out our massive production, "For God So Loved," and it  went the best it has gone so far.

We had aerialists involved during the celebration scenes, and even during one scene where Jesus is seen walking on water.

We had a double for Jesus at this point, because Peter bravely steps out onto the water to walk upon it.  Of course, he needs help, and Jesus walks out to meet him on stage, and save him from trouble.  Can you see that crowd?  It was huge!

Here's a better look.  There were thousands of people here this whole weekend to see this thing.  And right at the center of the stage in the picture above is a tiny little person, Madison.  She and the other kids were up front for the end of the production, and she had no problem with stage fright.  Here's a picture of some of the kids afterwards - and Daddy too:

We'll never know for certain how much of an impact this had, but we do know there were around five hundred first-time salvations.  And Madison played a part in that.  The entire team did, of course.  Lots and lots of volunteer time and effort went into sharing this important message, and we pulled it off.  Now... it's time to sail off!

Okay, maybe not in this boat.  First we had to do a lot of packing.  It takes time to put up all those props and costumes, and we were there so early this morning - right there at the church at sunrise.

But the rest of the day was nice too - it's just that after three days of production, and the race against time to get everything ready until then... we were just ready to hit our beds pretty quickly.  But sleepwalk we did, right to Nana and Ye-Ye's for a wonderful afternoon there.  As always, things are decorated nicely - and the baskets they had for Madison were intense!  Here's the one that we made for Madison - it had a "Big Hero 6" theme to it:

We've had some of those toys since November, when we spotted them on sale.  Note the egg/magnet face game there.  No, it doesn't have anything to do with "Big Hero 6," but it's cool.  We had those dolls last year, and of course the Disney Infinity figures, and yes, the movie too.  We've been waiting to watch that one again, and will no doubt revisit it some time this week during our staycation.

But the baskets that Aunt Shain and Nana and Ye-Ye made were just as big.  Aunt Shain continued the  Monster High theme with a "Head Mistress" theme.  The Monster High principal is a daughter of the Headless Horseman, so there was your theme for an Easter basket there.  And Nana and Ye-Ye got Madison those newest chapter books from the movie "Frozen."  They're called "Anna and Elsa," and so far there are about three or four books.  Madison will enjoy reading those in the coming days.  ALTHOUGH, she's still blazing through the "Weird School" books at a dizzying pace.  She's nearly finished four of those books this week, although there's been a lot of waiting time and travel time with the play practice going on.

ANYWAY, we went home around seven or so.  And that's when we pretty much crashed into bed.  It was a great week, and tomorrow will be a day of rest well deserved.

Goodnight!
