Mystical Land of Mulch

Before doing anything this morning, Madison and Daddy went back to Lowe's.  This has been our favorite place this week, a Mystical Land of Mulch.  Of course, this morning we did have a thing to build there, yet another patch for Madison's apron.  This craft that she built was literally a 'build and grow' project, because she built a planter with a glass side on it.  Now later on this week, we'll plant a seed that she can watch grow.  I think we'll probably take pictures of it, and do one of those time lapse things to show the progress of her growing plants.  The great thing about this particular project is that Madison did about 95% or more.  She lined up the nails, and did every part of the project in order.  She hammered them in completely, and did all of this on her own.  In the end, she made her planter, and it was all her.  She has certainly come a long way with this skill set!

Afterwards, it was time to head back to the Mystical Land of Mulch.  We got about ten more bags to stuff into the car - Madison was wanting to help put the bags on the rolling cart.  She tried... but ultimately, she felt her position as director was probably a better fit.  She pointed and indicated where each one would go, also looking for flaws in the bags just in case.  When finished piling up ten bags, she climbed on top.  Yes, what would Lowe's be without a Mulch Ride through the garden section?  Bags hoisted ten high, and there's Madison perched at the top, as if a pirate in the crow's nest, gazing out over the horizon!

Everyone spent a lot of time doing house work today, and by the time Daddy got home from work, they were all completely wiped out.  No trip to the mini-golf course tonight, as the family was exhausted.  Mommy served up tacos for everyone, and soon after it was time for bed for Madison, believe it or not.  We're still reading about Anna and Elsa, by the way.  Apparently, being queen is a lot of work - this is our discovery in the book.

The grown-ups watched "Big Eyes" after Madison went to bed.  Despite some language here and there, it was a good movie, and an interesting subject for Mommy and Daddy.  Tomorrow is church, so Daddy had to study some lines for the Kung Pow series - our skits begin again tomorrow, after a week off for Easter.  Nearly all of the KidPak actors were involved in the Easter production.  In fact, the Easter production was largely a KidPak sort of thing, which is something we're pretty proud of.

As I go, here's the next entry in our elemental devotional series.  Daddy wrote a few more today, just plugging away.  The goal is 28, and right now there are 14 done...

HYDROGEN
H 1

Hydrogen is the first element on the chart, and a pretty important one.  Have you ever had a tall glass of water before?  If so, then you’ve been actually drinking hydrogen all this time!
Of course, you aren’t drinking pure hydrogen – when alone by itself, hydrogen is a simple gas that floats lighter than the air around us.  But when you combine it with another gas – the oxygen you breathe – the end result is liquid water.  Stop for a minute and think of that:  put these two gasses together, and you get water!
That can be hard to make any sense out of, but that’s the way God set things up.  It’s amazing!  Hydrogen gets together with other elements, and the results can be seriously explosive.
But that’s how God set us up too!  On our own, we can do great and wonderful things.  But when we work together with others, it can be magnificent.  One of the amazing things about chemistry is all of these very different elements getting together to make something completely exciting and new.
Throughout your life, God will place you with some people that may seem pretty different.  But like those elements on the chart, remember that when you work together,  you can create something completely new and exciting!
