KidPak Sunday

The Baker Street Irregulars were a big hit this morning with some hilarious bits that each one nailed perfectly for a lot of laughter from the audience, kids and adults too.  It's been great having the younger cast with us.  It's more work getting them written in, but it's increasing their experience and of course giving them chances to work in ministry.

And here's Dr. Watson, our narrator.  He's telling the story as we go along, and it's a mystery that keeps dropping clues, but who knows where it's going?  I'm the writer, and I'm not 100% sure myself at the moment.  But it's been fun with lots of laughs, tributes to the legacy of Sherlock Holmes, and of course Biblical messages.

Our cast has been fantastic.  I don't have a picture of Sherlock Holmes from this weekend, but Daniel has been really good in his portrayal.  He's wearing a jacket (one that looks like "my gramma's couch") and the deerstalker hat too.  I've had that deerstalker hat in my family since when I was a little kid, and that jacket is something Mom made by hand a long, long time ago for a KidPak skit back when we were at the "north campus" in about 2004.  It's come in handy a few times, as we've done this series "Get a Clue" now three times.  It's such a great jacket too.

Tonight Maddie joined all of FCY for a "tailgate party" before the Super Bowl, and during it too.  The huge screens had the big game playing, although many of the people there were just hanging out with that in the background as they played games like "Uno" and "Throw Throw Burrito."  She had a great time tonight, as always.

We got home, and no, we didn't watch the rest of the Super Bowl.  We were watching the monobob competition from the Olympics.  That's the bobsled that has only one racer in it, and tonight the last two heats were taking place, solidifying the lead of one American and seeing the rise in placement of another American from Georgia.  The Georgia girl won last time, and this time was greatly hampered by being quarantined in her hotel room, separated from her child.  She didn't get to run through the course beforehand, and even so, got a silver medal.  Pretty awesome stuff.

Oh, and there was the Super Bowl too.  We found out who won, but we were really into the Olympics lately.  Maddie called down and was ready for bed.  The Frog Prince was back under my pillow tonight, singing his song when I put my head down on it - the the war continues!  We read tonight, and we prayed, and after that it was time for some sleep.  It was a long day today, the kid that really wears you out!
