ILY

Tonight was the last FCY had their services on Sunday night, and you can see the theme above, "ILY."  Which stands for "I Love You."  I'm not sure who out there texts "ILY," but my thinking is that if one can't type an additional five letters to say "I love you," then perhaps there needs to be a bit more love.

All joking aside, Maddie and a lot of other teens were gathered at youth tonight, and no it isn't the last FCY.  It's just moving to Wednesday night, which is only three days away.  In the beginning, it was on Wednesday nights, rather than Sunday nights.  The pandemic changed all that.  Now it's back to Wednesday nights, and yes, that means that Maddie's online small group session is going to change, probably switching places with FCY to now be on Sunday nights.

It was a fun night for Maddie regardless, with worship, a message from Pastor Hamilton, some fun games, and the usual hanging out afterwards with pizza and free-style rapping afterwards that had everyone in stitches.

We had KidPak this morning, and the Baker Street Irregulars were back on the case, trying to figure out what was going on with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.  There have been some twists and turns, and even the writer has no idea precisely where this is leading exactly, except to say there's still a few more twists and turns to go.  Maddie's been a great stage presence, and a help backstage too.  We have a good cast, and the service on the whole has been really good too.  This morning our guest speaker on stage was Pastor Travis from OC, who has been visiting with us this week.  He's on his way back to California now, but he had a great time with us this week, learning a few things and seeing how KidPak operates.  Hopefully we can some day go out there soon and help out, maybe for Summer Xtreme or something!

The Closing Ceremonies for Beijing were going on today, and there were some beautiful moments.  We watched it on a streaming service that didn't have any commentary, because we didn't really need any commentary.  It was great to just enjoy the presentation for what it was, and there were a lot of visuals to check out.  We didn't medal as much as we typically do, although Norway was crushing it this year.  It was still enjoyable to watch, and we'll probably still watch a few more events before all is said and done.  The Summer Games are three years away now, or at least two and a half, so our Olympic fever will be put to rest for a while.  Tonight we were watching the figure skating gala, and that was actually a really nice presentation where the skaters aren't worried about scores, and it's just a nice celebration moment where the athletes are relaxed and having a good time.  It's been fun to watch.

We got to bed a little later tonight, and we still read from our ongoing Kingdom Keepers adventure.  We prayed, and we got to sleep after that, this after a long day.  We get to sleep in tomorrow, and that'll be nice again.
