Maddie had a busy day today, one that ended with a bit of fun at the FCY Block Party. There was a FCY service and a short message, followed by just gorgeous weather outside at night (for February), where all the students could have fun with rides, tacos, dancing, and free prizes. You can see by this point we'd already won a few plush creationist that squirt gun game behind us, but we were going back in line over and over again so we could trade in for the biggest prize we could, which I wound up getting for Maddie. She now has a plush panda in the house, one named "Newsie," I believe.
This was all after play practice, which went on for a good bit. Maddie has just one more practice day, but until then, today's challenge was all kinds of choreography which the students are hoping to get nailed down soon enough.
We had a good day today. I was doing a good bit of writing, and Mom was working on a new gluten-free chicken dumpling recipe which was just amazing. It was all really great.
Not so great is war. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. We're seeing gas prices jump way up, and we'll see all kinds of financial troubles here as the Russian bad guys I used to remember growing up come back with a vengeance. I'm not sure how anyone in the world will ever trust Russia again after all this. Currently, they're invading the smaller country of Ukraine, and it's very ugly.
After reading tonight, we said our prayers tonight for Ukraine, and for peace in the world.
