Skate Party

We had a busy weekend for the church, with a DIVINE Conference for women going on that kept everyone doing lots of stuff for a few days.  Amidst all that was our regular service, which in today's case was something special.  For starters, you can see Madison above, praying over the offering.  That was a special moment.  Our service itself went well, with a new skit that sort of highlighted the progress of the LEGO mini figure costume we've been working on and off on.

You can see it above.  Calvin's character is working on a life-sized mini-figure character that has an artificial intelligence inside it.  At one point, the idea was to be done with this costume by this weekend.  But this project is pretty big, and it's something that honestly might get done with just a few weeks to go on the series.  At least we can say we did it, once all is said and done.  And on top of that, our cost was around $200 for all the supplies and the patterns.  Something like this costs well over a thousand if you buy it straight up, so we saved some money there.  It's just that with all that's going on with trees and so forth, it's been a busy season for us.

Anyway, we got home after a wonderful service about faith, but this wasn't time to rest on our laurels.   Daddy took a short nap, but tonight, Madison was invited to a skate party!

Daddy took her over to the Thompson Bridge Skate Country, which is a skating center Madison has never been to before.  We usually go to the Buford location.  The only people here were for the party, and Madison had a really great time with the skating, the terrible skate center pizza, and the delicious cupcakes and unicorn horns.  The theme was unicorns, and the lollipops were little unicorn horns.  She had a wonderful time, although it took a few minutes to remember how to skate again.  By the end of it all, she was moving along a little quicker.  She had a great time.

We got home, and it was time for bed, pretty much.  We read some more, and prayed for folks suffering through the after-effects of these terrible storms, and a new storm oncoming.  It's been a rough September for the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.
