Apples and Honey

It's Rosh Hashanah again, and as Providence arranged, we had plenty of apples to share with the kids in our classes at KidPak.  Daddy bought honey, and brought along the shofar, and tonight we celebrated a bit of Rosh Hashanah in the classroom tonight.  We were talking about walking by faith, despite the circumstances around us.  Of course, we're talking this week about "end of the world" predictions, terrible weather and earthquakes - and all of these things can certainly be unsettling.  But that's not what we focus on.  Our focus is on our Heavenly Father, for we walk by faith and not by sight.

We've been enjoying the apples this week tremendously, and some apple cider too.  It's all been so good, and a source of happy memories.  We got ourselves this huge basket of apples so that the grandparents can enjoy it too, although tonight we had the staff of KidPak munching on apple slices and honey as well.

Madison had her enrichment class once again, working on a drawing that's related to Dr. Seuss.  It may appear in the yearbook, as that's what the kids are doing.  It's the theme of the year, as noted here, the theme of the yearbook.  Daddy has been getting in early and taking various pictures of kids in the classrooms.  That will be accelerated in October, as things move along.  The year glides by quickly if you're not paying attention!

This morning, Daddy got four new tires for the car, getting ready for the upcoming trip.  Daddy did the research ahead of time, ordered the tires, and dropped by to get them put on.  The car should be ready to go.  Meanwhile, Mommy is packing and still doing a bit of cooking.  She made some butternut squash soup, which is so delicious, especially when Mommy makes it.  The family really loves this.

We've had a few meetings today, including one about our upcoming series, "Get a Clue."  We're repeating our visit with Sherlock Holmes, and coming up with all kinds of good ideas for the new series.  Things are busy, as we're getting ready for our upcoming trip.  A lot of that involves extra work to cover what happens when you're gone.  We're definitely going, and things look like they should be okay out at sea.  We'll see!
