National Cereal Day

Here is our KidPak staff in our yearly photo on the slide outside the church.  We did this last year, and now we did one this year because the weather was so nice.  So now it is official - we'll call it a 'yearly photo.'

Today was a major dentist day for Mommy and Daddy, which meant major bill day.  Yikes.  Mommy also lost her cap.  It was literally a week later than Daddy lost his, and it was the same exact tooth.  No joke.  Both had been in for ten years, and both decided at about the same time to come out.  Weird, huh?

It's National Cereal Day, which of course is a big deal.  Or, before Daddy's strange reactions to milk it was a big deal.  Daddy is a little more careful around a bowl of cereal, but there are certain cereals that you must take part of at certain times of year.  In March, we have to have Lucky Charms of course.  We don't have any of that yet, so Madison and Daddy had to make due with some other random marshmallow laden cereal.  But we were committed, and downed those bowls of cereal like pros!

Obviously, today was Monday.  Which means we had ballet tonight.  The weather is so nice outside right now, Daddy was reading out there while Madison was dancing in there.  The campus college is a nice atmosphere, quiet and yet nearby to everything.

We did get stuck in some traffic afterwards, but got home okay and in time to finish homework, piano, and watch "The Wind in the Willows" for a bit.  Madison said she liked the book better, and I'd have to agree with her - although the movie was a bit of fun.  We remembered the ride at the Magic Kingdom, which was a little weird now that you think of it.  I mean, doesn't Mr. Toad die in the ride?  I remember hitting a train or something, and then going to this dark place with all sorts of little devils, and then you come back to the original cue area?  So, the sentimental part of me might be disappointed that the ride is gone, but seriously, it might be a good thing that this one is gone.  The new Winnie the Pooh ride seems nice, anyway - that's the one that took it's place.

Moving on!  It was a nice day.  Madison is learning about Thurgood Marshall this week, and segregation, and all sorts of bits of our country's history that we're not quite so proud of.  It's good to learn it though, and it's great to see someone like him overcome his past.

Tonight, we all went to bed a little earlier.  It's warming up outside, and it'll be nice getting out more as spring arrives!
