Earth Day is coming up next week, so why not build your own recycling truck? This morning, that's what we set out to do, as Madison and Daddy ventured to the local Lowe's once more for yet another building project. This one wasn't exactly a "girl" project, but she was strangely really excited about it. It might be the fact that this truck has three separate areas to store things in. We were walking out of the store after we built the thing, and there is always some paper and plastic that the supplies come in. I was going to throw some of this out, but she insisted that it go into the truck, and she even separated it for me!
Later on, she found some of Wall-E's garbage from a toy she had - and put that in there too. That's what you see above. After this photo, the garbage idea was sort of thrown out (so to speak), in favor of having three compartments for passengers to ride in. So it was somewhat of a utility vehicle now. Madison is quickly building a garage for such wooden vehicles, where she stores her Luxury Assault Vehicle, El Chupacabra, and Lucy's car from "Despicable Me 2."
Today was another day of work for Daddy, but he did get home early enough so that we could have some time together as a family. The pollen has been lethal outside, otherwise we'd be out there doing tennis or something. What a tragedy that the weather is just right this season, and yet we're sort of hesitant to go out because of the air quality. And then after that, it heats up so crazy here. But hold your horses on the heat, because I hear we're supposed to be dipping back into the thirties next week. Interesting weather for sure!
Madison has been handling the pollen well, thanks to Mommy's consistent medication. We have to keep giving her allergy medicine to help with the pollen, otherwise she'll be coughing all the time, and sniffing all the time, and wheezing all the time... the great news is that Daddy is not wheezing at all like he used to. The old lungs are finally back to status quo, which is nice. There is rain in the forecast, but it can't come soon enough - the ground is yellow, the cars are yellow, and our vision is filled with yellow haze.
