Blood Moon One

Tonight we read a bit from the Passover story, with the idea of watching "Prince of Egypt" tomorrow.  Madison hasn't seen that yet, and we do have it downstairs.  I remember it being a decent movie, with some embellishments on the true story - however these didn't go as off course as this recent "Noah" movie apparently did.  This is Blood Moon Number One tonight, which has the prophetic world all abuzz, as there are four blood moons this year, and from what I understand they all coincide with Jewish festival days.  The last blood moon is a super moon, which sort of wraps the whole thing up.  The thing that has certain folks talking is the fact that bad things apparently happen when these blood moons show up on festival days, specifically bad things to Israel.  Which tends to bleed over into our world as well, of course.  So at 3 am tonight, we'll be ... oh, who am I kidding?  We'll probably be asleep at that time!

Yes, we were asleep at that time.  We did watch a video of the event taken from an observatory in Arizona, and we're all apparently still here the next day, so there's that.  And apparently we have three more chances to see this, so hopefully the weather will be clear for us next time around.  If there is a next time around...!
It could have been a "blood moon" sort of day for Madison, who went to the dentist this afternoon to deal with two cavities.  We have a return trip in the future, but today's trip was the more pressing of the two.  We got Madison out of school early, and took her to the dentist - this is the place that Daddy was initially pretty worried about.  It turns out they have it all down to a science, and a fun science at that.  Disney music plays in the background, as the children wear these orange respirator things on their noses that smell like fresh orange trees in Florida.  Of course, that's the smell that deadens the pain.  Yes, "Let it Go" was playing the same time the dentist was doing a bit of drilling.  But Madison handled it all so very well. She was tense here or there, but on the whole, she did a whole lot better than I tend to do at the dentist!

We won't see any blood moon tonight anyway, as the sky will be overcast - and that's a big story in itself.  The weather has been clear the last week or so, which is usually cause for happy celebration.  However, the yellow haze of pollen has been hanging in the air so thickly, leaving us all covered in this dusty film with dry eyes and parched throats.  We've been waiting for this rain for a while, and it came down pretty good today, clearing the air a bit.  Despite the downpour, it felt great outside, fresh and finally a bit on the clear side.

Daddy and Madison went to McDonald's after the dentist, and after that came home to try out some of our new Disney Infinity power discs.  We have only one to go, which is annoying in itself:  they sell these things in blind packs, so you wind up with all these doubles that are useless, and a huge waste of your money.  Next time, Disney Infinity... next time we're skipping the power discs!

Of course, I say that now.  We'll see what happens when they start telling us you can get an A-Wing fighter or make your world look like Valhalla.

ANYWAY, Madison and Daddy played around a bit today, which was the best energy Daddy could manage lately.  Mommy was busy doing taxes today, as tomorrow is the deadline.  She's been working late into the night on that.  Yes, we're getting a refund.  But yes, we conveniently have to have work on our car as well.

The ice cream truck came by tonight, and what a treat for the three of us.  There's something about an ice cream truck, isn't there?  You hear that music and it makes you jump up off your seat!  Madison and Daddy were out there on the front lawn waving it down, and moments later the three of us were eating ice cream together in the kitchen. Daddy even talked to the driver about coming by the church for our Summer Xtreme event.  We'll see how that works out...

So tonight we read a version of "The Prince of Egypt," to Madison.  We'll have to finish that tomorrow, as it was a bigger book to read than normal.  But that's okay, as Passover starts tonight and goes into tomorrow.  Madison clung to every word of this story, which was great to see.  It was almost as if she was listening to a story about a comic book hero - only this was a real hero, the man Moses.

Goodnight!
