So we were talking about golf yesterday, and this morning we spotted a sale at Target on this Arizona ice tea/lemonade mix, which happens to have Arnold Palmer's name attached to it. After a bit of research, apparently this is a drink he used to ask for - half tea and half lemonade. As we were just talking about it yesterday, Daddy snapped this photo to send off to friends, bragging that we had a whole bunch of it at the house. Madison was happy to play along!
As for how it tastes, it gets a thumbs up from Madison! And Daddy too - it's a nice mix. Today was a day for piano practice, and for going out on a date with Mommy at Texas Roadhouse. That was nice, although as of this writing now (two days later), it appears as if there may have been some funny business with the credit card. We'll find that out later, but soon after paying for our meal, that same card was denied in attempts at limousine services and bicycle shops in Connecticut and Canada. Funny how that works, isn't it? Fortunately, the folks who work with the credit card are apparently used to this sort of thing. But for us, it is a bit of a shock. Particularly if somebody at Texas Roadhouse is trying to be sneaky...
Tonight we watched - for research - the movie "Happy Gilmore." Daddy remembers this one from some time ago, and tonight we were hoping to see some scenes we could perhaps show later at KidPak. Here's where the loud buzzer goes off and a guy's voice screams out, "WRONG!" Yeah, there's a bit of language in this movie. But there is one scene that demonstrates a person trying to keep their patience, and that's what I was looking for: "You're going to die, clown!"
Oh yeah: so we're playing the "Muppets Most Wanted" soundtrack a lot lately in the car - it's replaced "Frozen" for the time being. It's a great soundtrack, by the way, really lots of fun. The original numbers are the best, Madison's favorites being "The Big House" and "Something So Right."
And Madison was wanting to see another Muppet movie, so tonight we watched "Muppets in Space." It was her first time, and our zillionth. This is Daddy's favorite of the Muppet movies, believe it or not. The soundtrack is cool, and the pace is fast and fun. Pepe is the breakout star, but this movie gives a little love to all the Muppets. Madison enjoyed the film, especially with a big tub of popcron. And of course, we all learned once more that Gonzo is in fact an alien. Then it was time for bed.
Upstairs, we did a bit of review for the spelling test. And we read from the Bible a bit as well, where we're just starting with the book of Psalms. Following that, there's always a comic book. This time we're reading a crossover book where Spiderman meets Superman meets Dr. Doom meets Wonder Woman meets the Hulk. This is a bigger book with lots of words, so it's been taking a long time. But Madison is okay with that!
