Madison Stop Motion

This is fifteen seconds of your life that you won't get back!  This afternoon, we were watching "The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town," which is a stop-motion classic by Rankin and Bass.  Madison enjoyed it - although that Easter bunny is nowhere near as cool as the one from "Rise of the Guardians."  Still, the movie does go a long way to explain why we color eggs and why they're hidden, which are questions I bet you've always wondered.  Well, all I can say is watch the movie!

But we had a conversation about stop motion, which is something Madison and Daddy tried out a few years ago with Wallace and Gromit.  But Madison decided she needed a refresher course, so she and Daddy took the camera and went out to the front yard for literally five minutes or less.  In another ten minutes, the video above was edited together (each picture is up for a tenth of a second, and we just found some music from Napoleon Dynamite that lasted fifteen seconds - bam!).

Anyway, it was a cute little project, and Madison enjoyed it so much she wants to do it again, only longer.  No problem at all - that'll be something to look forward to here on this blog eventually.

It's the day before Easter, which means we had a lot to do here and there.  We were at the church for a bit, helping set things up there with our Gwinnett Campus.  We also had a wedding to go to - Mommy and Daddy dressed up and went to a golf country club.  No kidding - that's the theme of the month, isn't it?  Golf.  Meanwhile, Madison was enjoying her time with her cousins - the whole family was there, and as always, Madison was upstairs at Nana and Ye-Ye's house, playing with ponies and dolls upstairs with Hannah.

Today was the end of Palindrome Week 2014.  What did you do to celebrate?  Hopefully, whatever you did, you repeated it again backwards.  In case you're wondering what the palindrome is, here you go:  Today's date is 4-19-14, which backwards is 41-91-4.  Or, if you move the hyphens around, it becomes 4-19-14, which is the same as the date, which is 4-19-14.  See what I did there?  Palindrome Week started on 4-10-14 (which backwards is 4-10-14), and will take place in May next year, starting on 5-10-15.  Perhaps by this time next year, Madison will have a better understanding of what a palindrome actually is.  Speaking of which, here's a post from a few years ago that is completely a palindrome.

One more picture before we go to bed here:

She sort of reminds me of a character from a Miyazaki movie, or some sort of Southwestern Hopi woman about to do some elaborate weaving.  Take your pick.   Anyway, she wanted me to take a picture, and I thought it was worth doing anyway - so there it is!  She's got a funny sense of humor, especially when she's tired...!

Yes, this was just before her bedtime, and just before we heard the pitter-patter of rabbit feet in our house.  We don't know if it is the cool Easter bunny or the cutesy one, but he's certainly coming to town!
