Laser Beam School Portrait

Here's a photo of Madison on a perfectly overcast day, seated in front of the old grist mill up river from us.  Okay, of course it's really a school picture.  But they did a good job with the backdrop, which is a whole lot better than the laser beam backdrop they used to make.  But so Madison won't feel like she's missing back on cool 80's laser beams, Daddy has made her an official retro school portrait right here:

How's that for retro?  Actually, this didn't turn out too bad.  I might have been inclined to buy this with laser beams in the background, just for the old-school feel of it.

Today was a work day for Daddy, and a school day for Madison, of course.  No piano today, because Hall County is having Spring Break this week.  This means that Madison doesn't have ballet this week either - but that will be a good time to catch up on piano homework that we're sorely behind with.

Madison went to Nana and Ye-Ye's house today after school, as Mommy and Daddy basically did the Marvel thing all evening.  First, we saw "Captain America:  The Winter Soldier," and then we got home in time to see the latest "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."  Both had huge plot twists and were a lot of fun to watch.  But Madison had even more fun with her cousin Hannah who came over to visit.  Together with Aunt Shain and the other cousins, they went out to eat at Chick-Fil-A, and jumped around in the playground there.  They came home and watched the Tinkerbell movie a second time, and played upstairs for a while too.  Madison was having a great time while Mommy and Daddy were out on a "date night."

But all good things must come to an end soon enough.  We enjoyed it, but were pretty ready for bed when we got home - all of us!  But before going to bed, there was one last thing to do:  put a tooth under her pillow.  Can't wait to see what's in store tomorrow morning!
