Madison got her report card today, and all looks well. We're so happy to see her on track, or in many cases, ahead of the curve in learning concepts. The only one that she seems to need a little work with is decimal places... I think. But even that wasn't a low score - she's just not there yet on complete mastery. But in every other area, she is just fine.
We made a big deal about a good report card - Daddy and Mommy rewarded her for a good report. Of course, we did it with a Disney Infinity figure: Dash. Her hint was to "dash" off to the place she always hides in the mornings when surprising Daddy. Sure enough, there she found Dash, and was anxious to try him out.
Of course, we had to eat first. Mommy made a delicious soup for Daddy and herself, and here's a note about Madison: she's been eating a lot lately. She ate FOUR of Mommy's homemade English muffin pizza halves. But she's been eating a bit more lately too - we think she's due for another growth spurt, which is kind of scary. We don't want her growing anymore!
Madison did some piano as always, playing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider," with both hands. Start with your fingers on the La keys, and you'll be playing a more mournful version of the song, which Madison also likes playing. She and Daddy start pretend crying as we play the song in a different key.
She's still filling out her devotional too - this is an item we'll want to keep forever. One of the items recently talked about praying for those you don't get along with. One of those people is a kid who is apparently a bully at school - Madison got a little emotional when talking about him. She said he bullies another girl too, so it's not exclusively Madison. But Daddy still gets all up at arms, completely missing the point of the message for a moment. Then, with a cooler head, he gets the point - we're supposed to pray for those people we don't get along with. Of course, use wisdom too - don't go trying to give him a big hug or anything. But don't spend your time hating him either.
This morning when Daddy dropped Madison off at school, we got there pretty early. We actually had to wait for the doors to open, and then the cars started moving. Never done that before. Madison and Daddy got to spend some time talking, which is always nice.
It was a big day at work, but we still had a bit of time in the morning before having to go in. One of the things Daddy and Mommy have been meaning to do was watch the recent television series from last spring called, "The Bible." It was on the History Channel, and it was pretty popular. We got a good deal on it, so we ordered that, and watched part one this morning - it was about Abraham, mostly. And it was pretty good. Of course, there were liberties here or there, but the spirit of the thing was done well. And, most importantly, it wasn't embarrassing like some of those old Bible interpretations have been.
So tonight we sat playing Disney Infinity again. Madison was Dash for the most part, cracking up as he whizzed around and beat all the bad robots up. We're in "The Incredibles" now, just starting with that part of the game. It's been fun!
But it was also time to go to bed tonight - we went to bed a little later. But that's okay, because here we are on Friday again. Tomorrow morning we get to sleep in. Good night!
