The Abomination

Today was warmer.  We'd like to say, "The cold never bothered me anyway."  But unlike Queen Elsa, we're pretty wimpy when it gets that soul crushing cold outside.

Madison is full swing again with her schedule, back to school and even back to ballet this evening.  Daddy dropped her off as is his custom, and then got to read some of his Christmas books while waiting for her to finish up.

We got home for delicious egg drop soup, made entirely by Mommy who has been enjoying making all sorts of things on her own of late.  The ginger in this soup just seals the deal:  it's a tasty and perfect thing for cold weather outside.  It warms up the soul and spirit!

Daddy and Madison did a bit of piano practice after that, with the motivation of getting that next power disc on the way.  These are the new Mombucks for a time:  power discs for Disney Infinity.  She didn't quite finish the piano practice assignment for the week - that would be unrealistic and pushing it.  She'll probably finish it on Sunday, as there's a lot on each weekly assignment.  But we still had a bit of fun afterwards, returning to Lego Marvel for a bit.  She loves those Marvel superheroes for sure, today opening up the new ones Sue Richards and Nick Fury.

We continued the Marvel theme at bedtime finishing up her mega Marvel book - this is a gift she got from Santa.  It has eight stories in it, ones that she and Daddy can both read together.  Tonight's story was about the Abomination, which is funny to read about to a seven-year-old girl. But that's the funny thing about Madison:  she's really into ballet one moment, and then the story of the Abomination the next.  Of course, it's a kid version with a happy ending.  Nothing scary before bed - just exciting HULK SMASH talk!

It started raining tonight.  That's right:  rain.  Despite sub-zero temperatures earlier this week, tonight when the sun goes down, we got rain.  What's up with that?  We patiently wait for snow - okay, so not so patient on the waiting.  But seriously:  where's the snow?

As we wait for it, here's our next entry in the fasting journal:

DAY FIVE
Ephesians 5:20 says, “Always give thanks to the Father for everything.” We should stay thankful at all times, even when we feel tempted to look at the bad side of things. Has God done something amazing for you since you’ve started your fast? List it below, and remember to stay thankful at all times! __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________
Jesus wants us to love everyone as we would ourselves. Some people are more difficult to get along with. Some, we’d even like to call “our enemies.” List below some of these difficult people that you should pray for – and ask God to help you love them more, just the same way that God loves you.
