Well, the forecast is about to get nice and warm again:
We tried the trick with frozen bubbles today - it was so cold outside. Daddy had to work, but before going off to work, he brought the bubbles out to the front porch so that Madison and Mommy could watch the experiment: would bubbles freeze as they said they would?
Sure they did! Daddy blew a few, and tried to catch them with his wand despite the wind. And then he held them up to the window so that Madison and Mommy could watch them freeze from inside. And sure enough, the bubbles froze within thirty seconds. Pretty neat, huh?
Despite not having school today, we did have piano practice. This was a lively return to form, as the kids were pretty wound up from Christmas and the recent weather closings. But Mrs. Pam kept things on track, and we're back to practicing and back to learning new things. Next week, she'll be promoting the big Winter Wonderland event, where all the kids can go and do something fun together. It's always a mystery, one that she gives hints to week after week. The kids love trying to figure it out. Next week, the room will be decorated as well, with all kinds of wintery items. Should be fun!
Madison went to bed early tonight - back to schedule now, because tomorrow is school again! She's still filling out her fasting journal each day, by the way. She insists on it, and gets Mommy to help her with it. Daddy read to her a few books before bed, including one with Black Widow that she's been itching to hear: it's a story of Natasha Romanoff, done for kids, of course. She enjoyed the story, and was pretty much ready for bed after that. And she knows our pattern: she told us at bedtime, "It's time for you to go watch Agents of Shield now!"
Yes, she was right. But first, we say our prayers. And for the past two days, it's been different there: Madison has been saying prayers, thanking God for the things we have, and praying for others - and ourselves. It's been very sweet to listen to, so much so that we'll keep letting her lead that evening prayer.
Before we go off to see if Agent Coulson can be rescued from the villains, here's our fasting journal for today. Excelsior!

DAY THREE
Psalm 119:62 says, “At midnight, I will rise to give You thanks for Your righteous laws.” It’s okay to thank God anytime for the wonderful things He does for us. Write down something that you are thankful for that has happened this very day!
