Maddie went to a slam dunk contest tonight, and although I'd like to say she came in first place, this picture above was really just taken with a ladder. I set one up beforehand and took pictures of a few people on top of the ladder, posing them as if they were about to, or were in the middle of a slam dunk in basketball.
It was a beautiful night tonight, the storm clouds rolling away and the weather still nice and warm outside. Students were starting to arrive to FCY, where this event has been advertised a few weeks. You can see Camille here, also scoring two points.
And Pastor Hamilton below is making the most important points of all...
In between, he was sharing the gospel with the students, some who had been invited to this event and don't normally go to church. But even outside in a place without pews or church organs, there were still hands raised when an offer for prayer was put forth for salvation. You can see Maddie above in the picture, and you can also see the shaved ice truck that was providing flavored shaved ice for all of us.
As for the dunking, it was pretty fun to watch. Maddie enjoyed it, as did all the other students there too. Even Pastor Hamilton tried a real dunk or two, getting involved in the "veteran's competition."
Pastor Lance was a judge tonight, but he did get involved too...
