Toy Box

So we're finally here, starting our new series, "Toy Box."  As you can see above, the set and costumes were fantastic.  Nearly the entire cast can be seen above, with Buzz Lightyear explaining a Space Ranger's fearless attitude:  To Infinity and Beyond!

Madison was a one of the sheep, which you can see to the right.  We had her and Jolina and Skylar as sheep that went along with Bo Peep.  Their names are Billy, Goat, and Gruff.  Madison wanted to be Gruff.  In the animated productions, the sheep are all part of one body, sort of stuck together with three heads emerging.  The girls represented this by locking arms and moving around together.  They had a great morning, even heading upstairs as you can see above, to greet folks in front of the main sanctuary.

Downstairs, we had our skit, an invention that told you what kind of toy character you would be most like as shown on the screen you see above.  The screen was also showing a couple of message-themed video clips to help our bottom line.  You can see how we turned the screen into a giant Etch-a-Sketch, which is pretty cool.  As for our bottom line, it was "To Infinity and Beyond," so you can imagine that featured a lot of Buzz Lightyear.  Still, there were other characters too, like Rex!

You can see Rex above, along with Gruff, Goat, and Billy.  Rex is an inflatable costume, much like all the others we used at Summer Xtreme.  What was great is the voiceover work from the sound booth.  We had Clint do the voice of Rex, who did a great job sounding like Wallace Shawn, the original voice of Rex.

It was a fantastic morning at KidPak, from the worship to the videos to the message to the skit and the invention portion.  It all went together beautifully for a wonderful and unforgettable morning.

Afterwards, it was time for baths, rest, and video games.  We were playing "Toy Story 3" for a considerable time, just because it's actually a fun game too.  Madison used to play this a lot, and today we can see why - the two of us were spending a good deal of time playing some games on the couch.  There was time for work too:  Madison was at the piano, playing some of her assigned pieces, while at the same time also playing some selections she's had Daddy printing for the past few weeks. Occasionally, I'll get an email with a music sheet on it, and I'll print it out for her to try out.  She has several of these by this point, and possibly one will be the selection she'll choose for the next piano recital.

Madison was working on her autobiography a little as well, writing about a page or so on that.  And after that, everyone got together on the couch to finish up season two of "Agent Carter."  It ends well for everyone, except for the character of Jack Thompson, who we've been spending years trying to figure out what happened there.  The series was cancelled before that question was answered, and you'd think that Marvel would do us a solid, and help us out?  Come on, Marvel.  It's been years!

Anyway, we're reading tonight, and saying our prayers for the grandparents, and the nation.  It was a good day though, a fantastic morning at KidPak.  To Infinity and Beyond!
