Uncle Shuck's

We had a fun day today, the last day of summer, and a great Sunday through and through.  Of course it all started at KidPak, where we had a great third service for our "Start Your Engines" series.  We had the Crash Test Dummy up there telling the story of Elisha and his servant, a really fun skit.  The kids were laughing quite a bit, and it was a fantastic morning for all!

Later on, we had a great time going over to Uncle Shuck's Corn Maze with Nate.  That was fun.  It was a bit hot to begin with, but we went through one of the mazes there, and that was nice.  Maddie and Nate were off on their own, as were Mom and I, stopping at all the stations and solving a mystery along the way.  Maddie and Nate did both mazes, and we all did the hay ride together too!  That was pretty nice, as things got cooler outside by that point, and it was just the four of us on the tractor ride around the corn field and along the stream and river.  We spent some time feeding the animals there too, pigs and goats.  Mom and I got some peach cider, and we got to sit at a picnic table under a large covering, just relaxing as the breeze cooled things down.  We even got over to the air cannon, the one that shoots corn and so forth.  Maddie, Nate, and I got to shoot the corn cobs, aiming for a target on an old mini-van.  The three of us didn't quite hit the target, but guess who hit it?  Yes, that's right:  Mom.  She actually hit it twice!

It was quite a good time there - not too crowded yet.  Last day of summer, but guess what?  We did something similar to what we did with the aquarium.  We got season passes for the price of one ticket.  And we were laughing about the idea of visiting a corn maze more than once in a season, but you know something?  We might be back this season after all.

We got home, and the four of us watched "Goosebumps 2" together after eating dinner.  It was a fun Sunday - we got Nate home after that, and of course we read from our book tonight, and said our prayers to close things out.

Before we go, here's some pictures we took from Uncle Shuck's tonight!

It was a good night!  Do you remember the twenty-first night of September?  Yeah, we had to ask that question.  Fortunately, this blog helps us remember just that!
