Tonight we were at the old ball game, back to see the Gwinnett Stripers in action agains the Durham Bulls. It was Nate's first baseball game, and a pretty quiet night at the ballpark - not many people there at all. It was also a blow-out. We lost 8-2, and it was fairly embarrassing for the Stripers, who didn't get a hit until about the sixth inning. They walked a lot, and the first six innings were extremely long for the other team when they were at bat, as they were either walking or getting hits, including at least three home runs. Some of them were "no doubters." The last time we saw a Stripers game, I believe it was with the Durham Bulls, and yeah, I think we lost that one too.

| Game On! |
Since the teams was doing so poorly, we had to make our own fun tonight, and that was okay. We One thing not okay was the incredible price of food there - something around $40 for three small servings of fries and three bottles of water. And there were NO CRACKER JACKS. So boo to the food team. But the rest of the evening was okay, including the temperature, which as that perfect temperature for this sort of thing. And the crowds tonight were non-existent. It was so quiet in that stadium tonight.
We got a pair of free Stripers sunglasses from a guy throwing out prizes from down below - and we also got to pose with Chopper after the game too. Oh, and then there was the extended scene of us on the Jumbotron. Seriously, everyone else had a short screen time on that thing, but when the camera went to us, we sort of went crazy, and for some reason, the camera just stayed on us a long, long time - it was funny. It was also a first for us, having never appeared on a Jumbotron before. Pretty cool!
We stayed for the entire game, and we managed to score a few points just to make it less of a complete humiliation. It also gave the home crowd something to cheer about. And we had fun there tonight anyway, despite it being a pretty painful game to watch for the Stripers fans.
The rest of the day was somewhat quiet. It's Loop Day, which usually means we watch Mrs. Peregrine and her peculiar children, but we'll catch that tomorrow night. There was the obligatory verse or two of "Run Rabbit Run" just because. And it's sort of a holiday for us, because this is where the fun begins. Fall is here, or at least about to be. The "Ber" months are here, and that means we can start celebrating a little early to make September a fun month with all those fall foods, games, movies, and traditions. It's going to be great.
We all got home tonight, and we were tired. But nevertheless, we did read, and we said a prayer - and got to sleep!
