Bead it

Before we continue withe the thrilling expose of the day's events, let us take a meaningful look back at some art that Madison created in her spare time today.  This is bead art.  Or something.  I'm not sure what you call it, in fact.  But the idea is simple:  you place these small colorful plastic beads down on a holder, making a creative pattern with them.  Next, you get Mommy to put a cloth over the top of them, and then use an iron to heat them up to the point that they actually melt together.  The next thing you know, you have art.  But not just any art - no sir!  You have bead art!

This was a cheap little gift that Madison got at Christmas time, and a fun little way to do something creative during one of the spaces of the day.

Madison had a paper to write tonight, while Daddy was gone - her topic that she had to write about was the one and only groundhog in Punxsutawney.  She had to write what she would do if she were the groundhog.  Surprisingly, what she wrote was exactly what Phil does up in Pennsylvania right now.  But I think that was the point she was making:  she was explaining all the things the groundhog gets to do.

It was Wednesday night tonight, and it was as always a great service at KidPak.  We have heavy hearts here because of this fire marshal fiasco.  Though other churches and buildings use this same exact material that we do without any complaints from their fire marshals, this one we're dealing with is making his own laws up.  And despite the fact that this same material is okay to use as insulation, and is specifically inflammable, we're apparently not allowed to have it in the building.  This after twelve years of using said material without any complaints or suggestions from any other fire marshal.  But we have a new local one - not the county one - and he is flexing his muscles, I guess.  And in the meantime, causing certain people to lose money, and more importantly, affecting these kids negatively. Suffice to say, we're scrambling.  And also contemplating taking several thousand rolls of toilet paper to this guy's house - I don't think that's flammable.

But for now, tonight was just great.  And this weekend will be great too, as we complete the cycle with a message of the last emotion, Fear.  I suppose we need to take that message to heart, don't we?  No weapon formed against us will prosper, and yes, this guy is a weapon formed against us.
