Wensleydale

Mommy and Daddy had Wensleydale cheese at one point.  We had to order it, and of course it came with the Wallace and Gromit sticker on the top.  We wouldn't have known about Wensleydale cheese if not for Wallace and Gromit, although Daddy does remember the name Wensleydale coming up in Monty Python's Cheese Shop skit.

We didn't care for it as much, to be honest.  But we do trying different cheese and crackers, so we might try it again some time.  We didn't have any cheese on hand tonight, but nevertheless, we watched "Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were Rabbit."  This is the latest in our ongoing theme of themed movies, one where we all sat together with popcorn and watched from the couch.  It isn't idea snuggle weather yet, as this week we're seeing an increase in all kinds of hot weather.  It's almost summer in feeling, and not fall at all.  Heavy clouds hang low, dark and brooding, and thunder rumbles off in the distance - it's not the windy cool sort of day you associate with fall weather at all, but rather something that reminds you of March, and spring.

Today was piano practice, and the pedal is to the metal.  We're really moving forward with practice, with newer and more difficult pieces that require both hands, usually doing two different things at once.  Madison is doing well, although there is a lot more practice involved.  And we're noticing there is a lot more homework than there used to be as well.  The spelling words are bigger, and suddenly we're not as quick to get homework out of the way.  Suddenly, we're investing more time in that, in piano too.  It takes time to get it all done, but she's been good about getting straight to it.  She seems pretty focused, particularly if there is a little reward on the way!

We were doing a lot of work today, as the weekend is shaping up to be a slightly busy one.  We hope to make a quick dash northward to Gatlinburg soon, but we'll see how that all turns out as we get closer.  There's a fun event on Thursday night we've been planning, and of course in less than two weeks, we're back in Florida for a tiny stretch.  This is the best season of the year, and we're just getting started!
