All Star Movies Resort

Today was a day to relax a bit with Nana and Ba-Ba, although their morning started out with some terrible news.  To their great credit, they kept their spirits up with Madison in the house, so as not to give any impression that anything was wrong whatsoever.  We spent time together, although it was very much limited compared to other visits - less than 24 hours, and we were off to our next destination.  Still, we had time for the usual hearty breakfast and a round of tennis out on the courts.  To that effect, Nana and Ba-Ba got Madison a new racket, which was greatly appreciated.  Even more appreciated were the pink tennis balls she now has in her possession.  These matched her tennis-playing attire just perfectly as she went out to hit the ball a bit.

The weather was cool this morning, and as a result, Daddy and Mommy slept rather well.  Madison did too - we all slept in a bit, and all woke up at the sound of a phone call, one of bad tidings.

How we wished we could stay longer, but our reservations were for tonight at Disney's All Star Movies Resort, which is one of the value resorts at Disney World.

Here's the section we stayed at - in the building to the left there.  It was fantastic.  This was a value resort, and as such we were expecting all things to go down a notch with quality.  And while there were some places that have seen a bit of wear-and-tear, there are other areas that have that Disney touch to them.  Most notable was Mommy's eating experience.  Again, this is a value resort with a larger cafeteria of sorts to feed a lot of people coming and going.  It's not the fine dining experience you picture at the higher end resorts, or even theme parks.  Regardless, there was a chef there to cater to Mommy's every need.  Her special diet was taken into account, and it was here that she felt safe with her eating.  Not only safe, but satisfied!  Such pleasure Daddy gets seeing Mommy able to eat the foods she likes, and not just some combination of food she is simply able to eat. One morning in particular, Mommy was actually able to eat gluten-free Mickey waffles!  This is something we loved to have, and for her to still be able to have it is hard to put into words.  It may seem like a simple thing, but this food experience puts Disney over many other places by a great distance.  Each morning or afternoon, we'd load up on a variety of food choices, our tummies satisfied before making our expeditions out into parks or beyond.

Tonight, we didn't have time for 'beyond,' so we stayed right there at the resort.  We settled into our rooms, of course, but we also made time to do something Daddy was wanting to do for a while:  go see a movie.  At some of the resorts, they set up an outdoor screen, and play a Disney movie.  Deck chairs are lined up, and families are invited to sit and watch a movie under the stars.  That is what we did - we saw "Tangled" once again, and to make the atmosphere just right, Mommy got us some popcorn from inside.  This was the All Star Movies resort, so it stands to reason that we should see a movie here, right?  Daddy snuck back just before the movie, and had to get us all sweatshirts, as the temperature was dropping.  Also, Daddy made Mommy some tea, grabbing some milk from the food court.

It was a lovely evening.  And we were quite ready for bed afterwards.  It was an early night, but that's okay, as we have a few late nights ahead of us.  We tucked in, and after playing some Scrabble for a bit, shut off the lights and drifted off to sleep.
