It would be silly, yes. But not quite as silly as some of the other things you see at fashion shows.
So today begins the writing. Daddy is writing the Christmas drama for Free Chapel this year, and it has a pretty hefty deadline: two days from now. So other things are put aside for a bit, which is no problem. We had a meeting about the overall flow of the story, so there is a skeleton to put some meat on. This is a terribly appropriate analogy, considering the time of year.
Madison at the moment does not want to be in a Christmas play. She's a little nervous, I think, and doesn't want to have a part that requires her to do something. She may change her mind though.
She went to tennis this afternoon, and once again, she won popcorn. This is the game somewhat like musical chairs, where all the tennis balls are launched in the air, and each one chased down by a child. As each round progresses, there is one less ball, and the child who does not get a ball has the honor of sitting with the others to watch the remaining players play. This is the sort of game that leans towards the older boys winning, but occasionally Madison wins due to a stray bounce. She's not at all worried about the end result so much, so there's no sense of that competition in her where she has to win everything or there will be consequences. She has a healthy sense of good sportsmanship, unlike her Daddy, who saw losing as the end of life on this earth as we know it. Hence the reason Daddy just wanted to see Madison win, win, win at popcorn one time. Not today though - he was busy at work. And the point of tennis practice, of course, is to learn how to play tennis better. Not popcorn, which is just a fun thing they do at the end of class. As for the tennis training, Madison is getting more advanced with her technique. And, she's using her new racket that Nana and Ba-Ba gave her last week after we visited.
Tonight's service at KidPak went well, as we used the Wisenheimer invention to scan kids' biometric data via a hard hat with fast-food toys hot-glued to it. It's a joke invention, where we all count down from three, and press the button on the invention - and then find out on the big screen (after some invention sound effects) what LEGO mini-figure that volunteer is most like. The results go from LEGO Iron Man to Unikitty, whih is great fun for the kids to see.
So back to typing I go - typing somewhere else, that is. I am busy with this script, but it is looking fun so far. It isn't the sort of script I would usually type up, but this one is turning out well so far. We pitch it on Friday morning, so hopefully we'll be able to make it all work in time. The disclaimer is that we JUST FOUND OUT about it, and that all of this is being done in very much a hurry. But still, hopefully God will come through as He always does with these productions.
