The Trololo Apocalypse

Here's Madison holding one of the racers from our newest series, Master Builders.  This weekend, this ice cream truck will be going up against an RV and a jeep dragging two jet skis.  This ice cream truck is driven by Rosie, who of course is the LEGO mini-figure that Madison made at LEGOLAND this past Spring.  The truck was put together during our block party the other night, along with the other vehicles.

Despite the appearance of this photo, today was a day of rain.  Lots of rain.  The general gist of the day is this:  rain.  It was a cold front that came pushing through, bringing some sudden temperatures that sort of shocked everyone a bit.  We're talking forties, and then thirties. Considering the warmer weather we just left behind, that's quite a plunge.

But we're in October, so we deserve it.  Seriously, we had it coming, right?  It feels like fall, so now we can go get our pumpkins and do those fall things, and it will feel like fall out there.  Or maybe winter, but there you go.

This weekend isn't so much about free time though.  The next two weekends ARE about free time, but this weekend is about setting up for this LEGO series.  That's what the family does.  Mommy sets up the display case, gets costumes ready, as Daddy works on videos, keynote slides, music, scripts and editing.  And we all wait for our set to get put up, so we can help there.  Can't wait to see our double decker couch!

Daddy has laid claim to the double decker couch, although at the moment I'm not sure entirely what I'm going to do with it. It's just something that will be a shame to put away in a warehouse, that's all.

Complete change of topic, but recently, there has been a virus that has been infecting a lot of us. As with most viruses, it started with one carrier:  Joey.  This is a guy who volunteers for us at the church, helping out a LOT.  But it started with him last week, and soon he infected Daddy.  And then it just spread from there.  This wasn't a respiratory virus though - and don't worry:  it's not ebola.  That's been huge in the news the last few months.  This virus is entirely different:  it's the Trololo song.

This was a meme a few years ago, but it has had a recent resurgence in our office, to the point that we might use it in a video some time soon.  Have you heard it?  It's an infectious tune, a happy little song that implants itself between your ears, and simply will not leave, even days later.  The most contagious stage is where the host finds himself or herself whistling or humming it.  It becomes even more of an epidemic when a few carriers bypass the whistling and humming stage, and actuallly trololo right there in the office.  One of the hallmarks of a person with trololo is a characteristic walk, a slow motion stride swinging one arm at a time to the front and back again, a goofy grin on his or her face.  Currently, there are at least twenty people exposed to trololo, with about fifteen or so showing the symptoms above.  We are approaching a point where we can call this a pandemic.  Hazmat suits will not help - and at this point, we're not sure if there is a cure.  The trololo just keeps going on - you wake up with it still in your head, echoing in your ears.  Madison has been exposed to it, but she may have developed an immunity to the trololo.  But her parents are clearly affected right now.  This is more severe than any zombie plague.  By all appearances, this seems to be the Trololo Apocalypse!
