Team Edge Demo

This was the last practice for Team Edge before the performance at Summer Xtreme this upcoming Wednesday, so everyone was dressed up and ready for battle!  They ran through the routine a few times, and overall, they're looking great!

It was a beautiful day today.  We stopped for boba tea afterwards, and that was nice.  We also visited the church for some costuming and prop issues related to Summer Xtreme.  It appears we have everything we need for costuming for Summer Xtreme, and that's pretty awesome.

We did a lot of yard work today - the back yard is looking great, but so are the sides of the house.  We have some bluebirds living in the Rock City birdhouse, evidence of their nest inside poking out the entrance in the front.  We've added a teapot to the "Alice" area, and the pumpkins are really growing well where they are.  Maddie was playing her game a bit today, and just the general surfing on the couch  and talking on her phone thing.

Given all the talk about Alice in the backyard, and the new blocks there creating a chessboard pattern, Maddie was wanting to watch Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" again, and that's what we did tonight.  She said at one time it was her favorite movie, and maybe perhaps still feels that way.  We still enjoy it, and if you watch it closely thinking of the sequel, it does line up well there, setting things up between the queens, and of course tea time.  Tomorrow we'll watch the sequel, of course.

And yes, the recent court case involving the main actor of this series was one factor in watching the movie.  He's had a bit of good news this week, although I can't comment too much on this because I didn't watch the court cast closely.  But a lot of people have been watching closely, and it's been all over social media and the news.  It's been a big deal.

Tonight we said our prayers, and we read after that.  I believe we should be done with this first book by the end of the week.  It's been a good read though, the three of us listening closely as our heroes attempt to stop the villains from trying to control the world with hidden messages and so on.  We know how it ends largely, this due to our watching the first series, but there are certainly differences between the book and the series.  Both are really good though, and without the series, of course we wouldn't have really thought about the books.  And now we have all of them, a gift for Maddie at Christmas, and we're reading through the entire series.

Tomorrow is church, so we'd best get some rest.  It's been a good day though!
