Maddie was wearing her new Lilo dress tonight for Free Chapel Youth, and since it was "wear your favorite hat" night, she opted to go with her Stitch hat that she got from Disney when she was down there. It was a complete Lilo and Stitch outfit. The dress looks fantastic!
She had a great night tonight at FCY, just as she has each Wednesday night. The service was really good, and afterwards, of course there was time to sit and socialize with pizza afterwards. Given the outfit she was wearing, it's too bad there wasn't pineapple pizza there! Oh great. Now I'm hankering pineapple pizza.
After service, we got home and of course we had to watch the latest episode of "Obi Wan Kenobi," which was pretty stunning. No one expected Darth Vader here, and so soon! We had another rainstorm, part of a system moving through - there's already a tropical storm conversation in Florida, and it's just nice to have some heavy rain moving through the area. For one thing, I'm not out there watering the plants - it takes a good long while to do that. It's pleasant, but time consuming.
Tonight's big thing after FCY was the next episode of "Obi Wan Kenobi." Things happened! We weren't expecting the return of Darth Vader so soon in this series, but nevertheless, here he was, and he was terrifying, a true villain. And voiced by James Earl Jones too, which is amazing. It's all a blast from the past, a nostalgic visit with iconic characters portrayed by the original actors. Beneath that Darth Vader costume, you can see Hayden Christesen, the original Anakin. It's tragic, and really sets up the true story of all this, and of course bridges that gap between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy. Anyway, the three of us enjoyed the episode, as did all our local group. We have this texting group called "WandaVision," because the five of us were talking about WandaVision back in the day so much we called it that. It's basically a "nerd television" group, because since then the same group - which Maddie is a part of - has talked about the following shows afterwards, both Marvel and Star Wars.
Tonight we still made time to read, as that is a must. And we prayed, which is a definite must. It was a good day, but the stress is increasing somewhat as we approach Summer Xtreme. Lots to pray about there!
