It was a slow beginning to the day, as we took a rest and just enjoyed some time together. We grilled some food, and did some limited yard work, although the sunlight was getting to be a little warm. A heat wave is coming soon, and those aren't fun. It may even reach 100 degrees by next week - we'll see. In the meantime, here's the big event of the day:
Tonight Team Edge was performing for the opener at Summer Xtreme Nights in Gwinnett, and you can see Maddie here battling with her staff, ready for action.
It was a challenging night, with the stage being small and the media team not quite ready for the night. But the kids were roaring with delight when Team Edge came out to perform, and they were screaming so loud throughout the choreography that the team had difficulty hearing one another.
They did so good, conquering all the challenges and getting the crowd hyped up for an incredible Summer Xtreme at Gwinnett.
And here's Maddie with her new protective mask! Actually, wouldn't it be great if everyone had to spar with these on? Just a thought. I know I'd want to see that...
We were quite exhausted from the adventure at Gwinnett, and also that drive down and back. We got home and shared our adventure, and then made time to read afterwards. This has been a tiring season - we said our prayers before bedtime, and were quite sleepy. Sleep came easy tonight!
