Fairy Village Close-up

It's been so incredibly hot this week, but we're so blessed to have these occasional showers that drift in, and there seems to be enough of these popping up that everyone in North Georgia is getting a shower at one point or another, and then even a little cool down time too, which is just fantastic.  For one thing, the plants are getting watered and that means I don't have to do it, so thank you Lord for taking care of the plants for us so much this weekend.  Mom is still putting new ones into the ground, developing the English garden area, and then the side of the house too.  It's a work in progress, all of it, and it will go on for quite a bit - in the meantime, I'm getting pea gravel, mulch,  paving stones, and some potting soil too.  We've got the planter ready to go on the deck, with soil in it and some prime real estate for whatever we pick up from the garden center soon enough.  The hope is getting some things we can eat, and we're already got some of that now on the way - there are tomatoes starting to turn red, and plenty of peppers, both the large green ones and the red chili peppers.  Maddie bit one of those pretty quickly when we brought it in from the outside, and she liked it!  There are so many more coming off that plant.

Work was slow today, but we got some things done for this weekend, and we're working towards July somewhat with an "At the Movies" series.  Should be fun!

Maddie took a few pictures of the fairy village outside.  It was a hot day, but she got out there to take a few of pictures of flowers and the housing units for our resident fairies.  Mom had tikka masala for us today, which was perfect as always, and I was able to spend some time on the treadmill walking off those calories, walking to Hoover Dam.  Didn't quite get there yet, as it's a longer trail, but I'll get there soon!

So each morning, Maddie sends us an update to let us know how many guesses it took her to solve the Wordle problem of the day, and then the Phoodle word of the day.  Mom and I sit together and try to solve these too. Sometimes Mom gets them right away, or others it's me.  Sometimes we spend a little longer trying to figure them out, and especially with Phoodle, sometimes it takes a lot longer because it's some foreign word or a chef's name.  But it's become a little tradition each day now, part of our morning routine.  Or our evening routine if we forget!

Speaking of which, we were watching Boba Fett and the Mandalorian on television tonight, but just for a little bit.  After that, it was time for reading about the Mysterious Benedict Society, and then prayers.  We said goodnight, and that includes saying good night to Maddie's menagerie of plush friends.  We'll all get a good night's rest tonight.
