Here we are on night three, and it was fantastic. We had so many kids this week, and things went so well. We have so much going on, so many details, and everything lined up so well. It was an unforgettable three days for many of these kids.
We had the water day, of course, with towering inflatable water slides, squirt guns, and a visit from the fire department too. They used their hose to fire a water cannon into the skies that wandered all over the parking lot - you never knew where that thing would fall next! Meanwhile, Maddie and I were getting into a water fight, dousing each other with cups of water, and of course there were dozens of squirt guns out there, so no one out there came inside dry!
It was a blast! I don't usually get to hang out there too long because of the administrative things needed to be done inside during this time at Summer Xtreme, but I got to spend the entire time out there this evening, and it was so much fun hanging out with the kids.
The ongoing drama onstage wrapped up today, and it went really well, and was super fun. The cast is really good, and I'm so proud of the younger cast members that have been getting better and better as we move forward.
Oh, and there were games too, of course. How can you forget a team of inflatable Sumo wrestlers?
It was a great Summer Xtreme Nights. But... we're ready to get some rest. It was another late night after another super full day. We said our prayers tonight, and we read from "Mysterious Benedict Society," and actually finished that first book tonight! That's right, we start with the next book tomorrow! Exciting stuff. We loved this first one, although we knew most of the story already. There were many variations, of course, but both were really good.
Anyway, everyone's tired. We'll get a little break tomorrow, but Sunday is on the way, followed by yet another Summer Xtreme Nights. Busy season!
