Patriotic Tree Ornaments

The Patriotic Tree is back up again, and this time it has some new Presidential ornaments that haven't made it to any tree yet - these were purchased on sale after Christmas.  I've added McKinnley, Grant, Eisenhower and Hayes.  We have quite a few to go until we get all forty-six, and in fact, they've only got up until Lyndon Johnson released at the moment.  Can't wait to see what they do with Richard Nixon this year, in fact.  We'll eventually have to get a bigger Fourth of July Tree if we're getting that many ornaments, but of course these go on the Christmas tree too.  Mom used some patriotic bunting for the tree skirt, and you can see the trees and ribbons on top, along with other ornaments as well.  It's a nice little tree!

So it's hot outside.  Really, really hot.  We've got this heat dome overhead, and the temperatures are in the upper nineties.  We actually had a neighbor cooking cinnamon rolls under the back window of her car in the drive way.  They were actually cooking!  We went out there to check on them, watching them sizzle as they got close to ready to eat!

Maddie took a rest and spent the day inside at home, and that's just fine.  We were doing quite a bit of birthday preparations, including "Boba Bingo," which you'll have to see tomorrow.  I was on the road today, racing down to day two of Summer Xtreme Nights at Gwinnett.  This may be my last Summer Xtreme event of the year, as tomorrow is Maddie's birthday and I'm staying home to help out for that.

I got home and was pretty exhausted.  It was a good day at Gwinnett, but another busy one.  They have a good team down there.  But I was so wiped out when I got home, so we basically had time to watch some "Mandalorian," and then spend some time reading from our new adventure of "The Mysterious Benedict Society."  Mr. Benedict and Number Two have been kidnapped, and our adventure is about to start with the kids ready to come to the rescue.

Tonight is the last night that Maddie is fifteen, which is crazy to think about.  She stayed up until midnight to celebrate #16, but tomorrow is going to be a huge day for that.  It's going to be amazing!
