Team Edge at Laurel Park

This morning started out at Laurel Park, and yes, we're still in the midst of that heat wave.  Maddie and Team Edge wore their black uniforms and got out there to perform once again in front of all these camp kids.  It was a different terrain, and a pretty interesting backdrop and location!  They did the same routine they've done the last two performances, and this time they did it without fancy lights or haze, using just the music from a cell phone and a speaker.  It was super fun - here below are some pictures of the group's routine, which went really well!

It was a fun morning, and a hot one.  Drinks and cold ice towels were ready for all the students, who quickly got changed afterwards, hopping in air conditioned cars for safe refuge.

We went to work after this, getting a few things done there for this weekend, which includes some Father's Day cards I created for the kids to hand out.  Summer Xtreme Nights is finally over with for Gwinnett, Braselton, Gainesville, Cumming, and Midtown, but still ongoing at Spartanburg and soon to be happening at OC.  Next week is Forward, so we're in a period of time after this where things will hopefully give us a little breather.

When we got home, Mom had a nice surprise for us:  shrimp on the barbie!  Mom seasoned some shrimp with lemon pepper, putting them on the skewer for us to throw on the grill when getting home.  I was out there grilling the, and then setting them down on a bed of rice on each plate, sprinkling some squeezed lemon over each one for some extra juicy flavor.  They were delicious!

Tonight we had taekwondo, and after that we got back home to water the plants in the back yard and eventually settle down to rewatch a few episodes of "The Mandalorian."  We did about two more of those, and we're somewhere towards the end of season two where Boba Fett makes that incredible return.  We were slowing down a lot for the day, and at the end, we headed upstairs to read, to pray, and to eventually get a bit of sleep...
