Another Beach Day

It was another beach day today, although you can see the darkened skies in the background here, with lots of rain falling down.  The passing storm brought out some wonderful scenery though.

The sunlight illuminated the beach, as the approaching storm brought darker deep blue coloring across the ocean, over the beaches and onward into inland Florida.

After the storm passed, Madison and I were out there on the shoreline, walking along and eventually settling at one place right where the waves crashed onshore.  We sat down for a good while there, watching wave after wave approach, some of them just about knocking us down.  The whole "digging in" strategy works for the little waves as they washed over us, but there were some bigger ones coming in, and those were lots of fun.

We were back in the pool for a good bit after that, and the water was warmer.  Also, no signs of anyone making sure we followed all the rules.  We spent a little while in there, but it was pretty much time to head in after a while.  We were outside a good bit.

Indoors, Madison was watching this "American Ninja" show again, while I was out on the balcony, finishing up a book about Sam Houston.  Mommy was studying genealogy online for a while.  We had a huge breakfast, which has been the way of things lately.  We had a big dinner too, and after that we were out on the beach again, quite socially distant from many others.

We checked on the one turtle nest - the clutch - that should be revealing a lot of turtles any night now.  But it was just such a pleasant walk, right when the temperature was just right, and everything was quiet except the ambience of the constant crashing waves.

The sunset on the other side must have been wonderful.  The clouds over the ocean were beautiful, their reflections on the thin layer of water on the sand sitting there to make such an easy photograph.  We walked along in silence, watching the birds, watching the clouds, passing by others occasionally, but again, there weren't so many people here, just the way we like it.

This walk along the shoreline is a picture of the entrance to heaven for me, personally.  The temperature is perfect, the winds calm and quiet, and the ambience there at such a level that you feel perfectly serene.   It's such a peaceful, quiet walk, where people of all sorts are strolling along as families or couples, all together, all sharing this one perfect moment where the beautiful pastels of sunset are reflected on the smooth wet sand in such a way that you could almost lose place of where the horizon line is.  It is always such a tranquil walk, one made better by who I was walking with, of course.

We got back into the condo, and Ba-Ba and Nana were watching the opening night ball game up in New York.  The Yankees won the game, which in this case is good as Washington is in our division, and that puts the Braves up before they even play a game.

Tonight we watched something new, a movie about Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon.  It was actually pretty good, so much so that we'll probably watch the second movie tomorrow night.  Afterwards, we were reading from "Wings" again, where our nomes are learning about geese in Florida, and other nomes too.  It's a great book series, and what a fun coincidence that these nomes flew from England to Florida, just as we were heading down here.

It's been nice down here. We've had conversations and good time spent with the grandparents, who we prayed for tonight.  No hide-and-seek or pillow throwing.  But prayers are mandatory, prayers for healing in particular.
