What Makes a Garden Grow?

Our tomatoes are coming in quite strong!  This stick from the woods was an early stake, but as you can see in this picture, we have some seven-foot-long bamboo sticks as well, because our tomato plants are growing upwards about five feet now.  They're not only growing up and out, they're also producing quite a bit of fruit!  Or vegetables, depending on your point of view!

Meanwhile, here's the little herb garden that we have on the back deck, one we're sure to water each day.  Lately, we've watered it a few times.  But for quite a bit this year, we haven't had to do that very much because of all the rain.  This week, the rain showers are brief and passing.  For a few weeks though, the rain has been the steady and often heavy kind.  We've gotten a lot of rain this year.

Madison had her taekwondo class today, but she was at the studio for quite some time this afternoon. Not only was she practicing in her class, she was also helping out with the younger kids, helping as one of the leaders.  In between those classes, she was also in a one-on-one personal class, this given by Mrs. Edge.  The reason for the personal class was the upcoming absence we'll probably have soon, as we head down to Florida to spend time with the grandparents.

So she was there a few hours, actually.  In that time, Mommy and I were doing quite a bit of grocery shopping, getting things for the trip, and just basically restocking the pantry.  It's been a while since we were at the grocery store.

I was wearing a mask, but this week it's been determined that everyone should wear masks in these places:  grocery stores, department stores, and many other places are suddenly making it mandatory to wear masks inside.  One bit question is why now?  Which of course has a somewhat menacing answer, so perhaps the other question should be, why not then?  I don't know.  Which is just like many others, whether that think they know or not.  Some pretend to know, and some think they know, but the truth is that none of us know.

We did get to spend some time in the pool tonight, and that was nice.  A few of our neighbors were there, so Madison knew some of the others in the pool this time.  Lots of splashing today!

We ate when we got home, because it was Taco Tuesday.  Our mighty plastic Taco Trucks crossed our plates, carrying upon them two magnificent large tacos with all the trimmings, thanks to Mommy.

Tonight, there was time a few episodes of our current binge, followed by our book reading, prayers, hide-and-seek, and the usual routines.  We went to bed a little early, as I'm not feeling 100% lately.  Maybe I need to eat more vegetables... waiting on the garden ...
