Movies usually take several months until they are released in digital format, and then a few weeks later with hard copies. Less than a month ago, we were watching "Onward" in the movie theater on opening weekend. We would have never imagined it would be released already, which is why we were watching it again tonight.
This morning we had a delicious breakfast, some French toast, and a very big breakfast before starting our day. And soon after that, Daddy and Madison were taking a walk through the neighborhood, giving out palms that we collected from Palm Sunday at KidPak. We placed the order for these palms as we do every year way back in January, and here they are - and we're not able to hand them out at church. We were able to get a few of them out, about 100 palms in a bag. That's why Daddy and Madison were walking through the neighborhood, handing out palms to our neighbors for Palm Sunday tomorrow. It was nice meeting some new neighbors, and of course keeping that social distance.
Here are some crosses that some of our neighbors have made, using the palms. We'll be doing that tomorrow as well, as it is a tradition of ours. We'll celebrate Palm Sunday as best we can. And today we were celebrating it a bit early, leaving palms for several of our neighbors as we walked through the neighborhood a bit.
Daddy and Mommy were doing some garage work today, cleaning up and moving things about, plus hanging up some new license plates in there. Daddy has license plates from all fifty states and then some, all lined up along the garage. Years later, you could buy a box of Honeycombs cereal and get a license plate inside for your bicycle. It was impossible to collect all fifty states in those cereal boxes, but you can collect the big license plates easily, which I was doing for many years. Eventually I got them all, and some extra souvenir ones too for fun. They look great on the garage wall there.
Madison was working on a new Star Wars LEGO project, and this one is a monster. It may take a couple days to get this one done, and some work with Daddy as well. She was working on this for a bit today, and we were working together on cards for the seniors at senior homes. We've finished those today, and we'll start writing letters to the nurses and employees at these locations next.
Madison was taking pictures along our walk today, part of her nature photography assignment. Here are a few of those snaps she took today.
They turned out well! It's been a nice day too. Lots of families were in their yards, this weird place of not really getting too close, but being there to wave to one another. The neighborhood has been good that way, even doing things for the kids, like the virtual Easter egg hunt, where kids can walk or ride by in their cars, looking for eggs on display at the houses. Another thing is the "bear hunt," which I think we'll be doing soon enough as well.
We said our prayers tonight again, praying for leaders for wisdom and guidance as we go into what is being advertised as a "pretty rough week." We're praying for healing, and for hope. It's a week a week of hope, and that's what we'll continue to do: hope and pray.
