Nice Catch

This afternoon was so perfect, we were out there for a game of catch.  You can see Madison is already wearing that shirt she got for Easter, and she loves it.  And there's the hat she got at Christmas time too.   We were throwing the ball back and forth in the front yard, and as much as she loves baseball, she's not really tried a game of catch before.  Today she was getting used to the glove and catching a baseball - she was getting better with that part as the afternoon wore on.  The throwing part is easy for her:  she was accurate and could bring some heat!

It was a good day to be outside, so we were out there picking up sticks off the lawn from this last round of storms, and planting about sixteen different plants in our garden area.  We were doing a lot of weeding too - there's a lot to be done in that regard, but we got a good bit done.

Daddy was writing some material too, including a new skit for Nerdo next week.  Madison had finished her school work for the week, so she was doing a few other things as well, including some practice on her form for taekwondo, and then of course some piano.  We had to order her next piano book, because she's moved up to level five there, but I don't think it'll arrive in time for class Monday.  She's been tweaking a lot of the other things she's playing in the current book, and of course still working on a recital piece.  It seems like we'll be doing a Zoom recital of sorts, but it's early and maybe things will change.  That's the hope, anyway.

The biggest part of our day was outside, and perhaps that is why Daddy's been a little sore in the chest area - inflamed lungs or something, I don't know.  We retreated indoors after a few hours out there, and had another remarkable meal from Mommy.  She is amazing.  While eating, we had the live cam from Dollywood on, the one that is right over an eagle's nest.  The eagle's baby just hatched in the nest, and Mommy was sitting there watching over it, which was super cute.  The feed had a great quality to it, along with the sounds and ambience of that part of the park, so we left it on a while as we ate, and finished up a few things in the house too.

Oh, before too much time goes by, here's Madison's part in that Toilet Paper Challenge, or tpchallenge.

This will be added to several other videos that look fairly similar, as if we're all kicking the same roll of toilet paper to each other.  It's a nice way to connect all the students at Edge ATA, even though they're not all physically together.

So tonight we finished the Star Wars marathon, and it was a big night for Star Wars, as we also watched the latest episode of Clone Wars.  We watched the episode first, and it was easily one of the best episodes of that entire series.  It showed Ahsoka's true strength and power, and how much she's grown since that first appearance so long ago.  It also showed why everyone likes her character so much.  It was so good we wanted to watch it again - but we also knew this last Star Wars movie was pretty long, so we got down to that with a bowl of popcorn.

"The Rise of Skywalker" was better the second time we watched it.  It's a longer movie, of course, so we were up later and couldn't read that long afterwards in bed.  It was close to midnight, and I think even after midnight when we finished reading and praying.  We seem to be gravitating towards the status of "night owl," so we might want to adjust that in the coming days.  Sleeping in, staying up late... it's a by-product of this recent quarantine, I think.  I also think it's fairly common for folks in our situation, staying at home.

To that end, perhaps it is time to stop typing now... and get some sleep myself.  Goodnight, and stay safe and healthy.
