Daddy put the finishing touches on the main Christmas tree tonight, the one that takes so long to get put up and decorated. Madison was there for the last two parts, the first being the tree skirt. She wondered if it would still fit around her waist, so we gave it a try, and Madison made a fashionable pose for a nice picture tonight, which you can see above. You can also see above a time not too long ago when she was wearing it as a poncho!
Daddy next to the ladder out, and put the tree topper on last, completing the whole tree. It looks really nice, even better at night with so many lights on the tree. It's a full tree, that much is certain. There are so many ornaments on this tree that we really can't get too many more to fit on it. It's either that, or we get another tree - which would be five!
This morning, Madison was off early to help out with collecting stuffing with this food drive. Daddy wrote this insane skit, this one based on an insane Manga/Uno comic that is out there. We thought it would be fun to have some overdramatic actors on stage, playing a heated game of Uno. It should be fun!
We had some other Christmas production meetings this morning, and there was a great deal of setting up for tonight and this weekend. Daddy was struggling to get this night done, where others have been easy, and in fact the next two weeks have a great line-up of activities and talking points. But tonight was a struggle to put together, and I must always remember when this happens that there is a reason. In the case of tonight, it was a boy who has been battling depression, and a diversion of what we had planned... to a classroom conversation about how to follow James 4:8, and get closer to God.
It was a moving night, and we must always remember these sorts of things, so God will continue to use us, as we drop our plans to share His love.
Daddy got home enough to read one chapter about the Beaver family in Narnia, and then it was time for prayers and a good night's rest. And some typing on this blog. The news from Florida is improving, as is Ba-Ba's weight and blood pressure. We're continuing with the prayers, and greatly encouraged by the news today.
