The Gift 2019

This morning we were off and running, going over to the elementary school for a bit of shopping.  We went to this last year, so we set the alarms and got out the door early to take advantage of the early Christmas shopping season.

Madison and Daddy were there, walking up and down the aisles, looking at the different craft items and candles.  Madison got a few things, one item for Mommy, and one item for a friend as well.  It was a nice morning, although a bit crowded with holiday shoppers.  It was nice though, with lots of smiles and neat things to look at.

We got home quickly though, being sure to eat something for lunch before our next destination called.  We got in the car, and for early afternoon, we made it to the Venue on Friendship Road, in order to once again see, "The Gift."

Madison met one of her friends there - she and her mother sat with us in the second row, dead center, and enjoyed another fantastic production.  This year's presentation was really good, with some of the traditional parts we know and love, some choreography that dates back to the very beginning of it all - the Wise Men dance, as well as a few others, including "Angels We Have Heard on High."  The portion with Mary and Joseph dancing is very nice as well.

We've been going to this for something like twenty years now.  Our first visit with Madison, as far as I remember, would be back in 2009.  We used to see this at Pearce Auditorium, and then at the Georgia Mountain Center.  Lately it's been at this new location, which isn't as great - but the production is still a wonderful thing to see.

Madison and Jolina both enjoyed it, as did Mommy and Daddy too.  One thing that was great to see was the auditorium, filled with folks who made the trip here to enjoy this.  It is to some the start of the Christmas season.

It was very nice, such a sweet moment.  We'll keep seeing this as long as Praise in Motion continues to put this together.

Afterwards, we went home to our home and there was dinner and a bath for Madison.  There were a few things to do for work, and some research online for the upcoming trip to Daytona, and some tickets we bought - really, really cheap - for an event we've been anxious to go to, that we haven't been to yet.  It's pretty exciting!

As for tonight, having been out all day, it was good to stay at home and on the couch, where we watched, "Miracle on 34th Street" together.  The tree looks so nice, and the blankets warm on the couch, and a nice movie playing... it is the most wonderful time of the year!

We concluded the day with a visit to Narnia, with prayers and with the devotional as well.  Ba-Ba has been having a more good days than bad ones, today being a really good one, with a visit to a Mexican restaurant with Nana and Uncle George.  Ba-Ba has been able to eat more, and has been feeling better each day - it's been really amazing and so inspiring.  We can't wait to see him next week, and spend some time together.
